7 Steps To Publish Your Book
There’s nothing like holding your very own book in your hands.
But just know that the thing you hold in your hands has immense marketing power (In my Morgan Freeman voice)
***Follow this simple system to publish a book that you can be proud of????
??MARKET ANALYSIS: Before you begin writing it would behoove you to know what market you are entering (Health, wealth, love, or safety?) And understand what people are already buying in that market. What do the 3-star reviews say? What problems and complaints does your ideal reader/client have?
??COMPETITIVE RESEARCH: What books are crushing it? Check out their titles, subtitles, and design. What’s the overall vibe of the book? How do they promote their book? Ads, landing page, book funnel, social media content. Check them out.
?? ROUGH DRAFT: Create a writing schedule (9pm-9:30pm for example) and write like how you talk. Do not edit during writing phase. Let it flow. ??EDITING: Hemingway editor, Grammarly and a basic spell check can help you more than you realize. And those tools are all free. I still recommend hiring a professional, but just know that you can make a lot of progress with self-editing and having a smart friend review it.
?? DESIGN: There are a lot of cool, clean designs you can get from dribble or freepik. But just like with editing, I’d recommend having a professional create an original front cover, back cover and interior designs. Nothing pains me more than seeing a book that looks like it was created by someone’s 10 year old nephew in 2006If you don’t know the differences between, raster, and vector or RGB and CMYK or what dpi means just have someone that knows what they’re doing do it please. ?? FORMATTING: .25” if you have that for you margins you should be good to go. You can add more for the gutter. Like .35” Alex hormozi books have 1” gutters and almost 3/4” margins. If you have no idea what I’m talking about this simply means giving your interior pages breathing room. Nothings crammed together or letters all the way to the edge getting cut off. Everything is nice and uniformed. That’s what formatting ultimately is, which makes it easy on the eyes and keeps the reader focused and not distracted.
?? PUBLISHED BOOK: This is the culmination of all your hard/smart work. You persevered! And you are now a published author. But this is just the beginning. There’s so many options to market your book and get in front of your ideal reader.
