7 ways to know a fool

First, fools repeat their mistakes. We all make mistakes but to repeat your mistakes is foolishness. To be cheated the second time is foolishness. To be sacked again is foolishness. To lose money again to a con is foolishness. To sire children with different women is foolishness.

Proverbs 26:11 (NLT) - As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.

Second, fools speak without understanding the debate or the subject matter. While the wise speak because they have something to say; fools speak because they have to say something. Fools broadcast their foolishness - Proverbs 12:23 (NLT).

Proverbs 18:2,6,7 (NLT) - Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.?The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips.

Third, fools despise wisdom and discipline. They don’t believe in learning or self-improvement. They won’t read a book, or attend a self-development seminar, or pursue a skill or further studies. Fools don’t take care of their jobs or relationships. Fools don’t care who they sleep with, nor do they care which relationships they break.

Proverbs 1:7 (NLT) – Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge,?BUT FOOLS DESPISE WISDOM AND DISCIPLINE.

Fourth, fools keep losing their temper. They lose their jobs and marriages because of bad temper. Wise people control their emotions.

Proverbs 29:11 (NLT) - Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.

Fifth, fools are resistant to change. They hold tightly to their old worldviews without listening to any new ideas. A wise man changes his mind sometimes, but a fool never. To change your mind is the best evidence you have one. That you’ve done it for a long time doesn’t necessarily make it right. The wise recognize that as iron sharpens iron, so does one man sharpen another (Proverbs 27:17).

Proverbs 12:15 (NLT) - Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.

Sixth, fools misrepresent and misquote the messenger. They neither comprehend nor deliver the message accurately.

Proverbs 26:6-7 (NLT)?- Trusting a fool to convey a message is like cutting off one’s feet?or drinking poison!?A proverb in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed leg.

Seventh, fools argue there’s no God. Any wise person knows that things don’t just happen. Life just didn’t happen. Material things cannot emerge out of nothing. Nothing is orderly by default. Only chaos occur naturally. The cosmos is orderly by a higher power.

Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1 (NLT) - Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.”

Proverbs 28:26 (NLT)?- One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks?in wisdom is?kept safe.
