What others think about you is none of your business.
Let them think or believe whatever they want to. Everyone has the right to think whatever they want. Similarly, you have the right to ignore everyone who backbites you.
Life?is?too short to live with regrets or think about people who don’t know anything about your struggles, success, failure, and times when you were alone.
In my teenage years, an uncle in our neighborhood used to degrade my father by saying that.?“A computer engineering degree for Yousuf won’t help. Tell him to change his career. There is no scope.”
My father has shared this with me a zillion times. I used to ignore my uncle, and I requested my father to do the same.
Now, the uncle is quite aged, lives near our home, and occasionally calls me up to troubleshoot problems with his computer. He thinks I am a computer genius.
That’s the thing about people. They will degrade you, downgrade you and give you suggestions about how you did wrong, but when you become successful, the same people will share with other people how they know us and helped us succeed.
It’s a circle of life that you cannot change. It keeps repeating itself. Here are some ways to ignore what other people think about you and work on yourself.
1. Be grateful for whatever you have.
The more grateful you become, the more you’re blessed.
Begin each day by counting 10 things you’re grateful for. When you count down things you’re blessed with, it drives your focus away from what people think to what you have. The more thankful you become, the more GOD blesses you.
“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” ~Amy Collette
2.?Work hard on your skill.
I am a writer who writes every day. Even on days I don’t feel like writing. Being consistent allows me to think about ideas fast and deliver them on a deadline.
“Everything we do is practice for something greater than where we currently are. Practice only makes for improvement.” ~Les Brown.
Practice hard to become a better version of yourself. Compare your today with the person you were yesterday. Think about what you’ve learned and what mistakes you made yesterday. Avoid doing the same thing for two days unless you’re improving it.
3. You know your life more than others.
Whatever you do has a reason behind it. People don’t have a clue what you’ve gone through. They’re saying things and thinking about you blindly or with incomplete information. Don’t let their ideas drive you crazy.
You are a person who is bold and adult enough to make your own decisions. Even if you fail, it’s your failure. Learn from the failure and move on. People will irritate you, and that’s okay because they’re trying to be good or they’re just jealous of your success. Let them do what they think is best for them, and you must do what feels best for you.

It is your life. You have the power to take action with whatever experience and knowledge you have about yourself.
“Don't be confused between what people say you are and who you know you are.” ~Oprah
4. Success is different for everyone.
Some people consider success in earning tons of money; others consider finding meaning in their lives. Decide what success means to you and focus on achieving it. Make a plan and execute it.
“Stay away from those people who try to disparage your ambitions. Small minds will always do that, but great minds will give you a feeling that you can become great too.” ~Mark Twain
If you feel you’re demotivated all the time, change your company. Mark Twain said it right. Don’t wait for the right time.?Connect with people who discuss ideas,?motivate you, and stay optimistic.
5. Change your thoughts, and your life will change.
Thoughts have power. In his ground-breaking book, Miracles of Your mind, Joseph Murphy presents a fantastic analogy.
Consider your mind as a farm. Whatever seed you sow, the same result you’ll get. If you sow seeds of rose, you’ll get a rose tree. If you sow cactus seed, you’ll get a thorny tree.
It'll manifest into a reality if you think people are against you. Think good things. Think optimistic about the people around you, and you’ll notice a significant difference in the people around you.
“Whenever human beings consciously change their thought vibrations they can change their life. Mantras are the thought vibrations.” ~Amit Ray
6. Make it a mission to prove them wrong
The best revenge is the ultimate success.
Instead of taking everything to heart and feeling upset, take whatever others say and use it to fuel your success. Take it as an opportunity and prove them wrong. If you have a weakness, overcome it. If you fail at something, try again. And if people say you cannot do something, make it a mission to succeed at that thing.
“No matter how many times people try to criticize you, the best revenge is to prove them wrong.” ~Zayn Malik
7. Execute things. Express yourself. Have no regrets
You have one life. If you have an idea, execute it. If you love someone, tell them. If you hate a job, quit it. Fire the toxic people from your life. Leave the irritating boss that keeps degrading you.
“When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret.” ~Shannon L. Alder
Ultimately, do things that feel right for you, regardless of what others think. I want you to know that you are responsible for your actions and results. People are just watching your life with popcorn in their hands. It is entertainment for them.
