(1 min 55 sec read)

Many companies already have a team of high performers.

But they don't understand how to get the best out of them or make them an effective team.

I've run multiple companies in high-level positions, had my business for 5 years, and worked with clients from all around the world.

In today's newsletter, I'm going to share 7 tips to get the most out of your high performers and turn them into an epic team!

7 TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TEAM

1. Encourage early vulnerability.

Get the ball rolling by creating a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings from the get-go.

2. Celebrate your wins, but also your failures!

Like scoring a try or fumbling a pass, every victory and setback teaches us something.

So, let's celebrate them both!

3. Check in on them - they're humans after all!

Check-ins aren't just about tasks.

They're about the people behind them.

4. Recruit for a flexible mindset and a big heart.

Look for team players who not only know their stuff but also share the same values and bring good vibes to the office.

5. Set clear, attainable, and flexible goals.

Or iterations... we're always iterating, right?

6. Invest in them, and see the dividends. Learning, time, development. Just invest!!

Chuck some time and resources into helping your team level up – whether it's through training, mentoring, or just having a good chinwag.

7. Regularly review your team culture and show them it's okay to have tough conversations.

A team that can chat about the tough stuff together stays strong together.

Keep those lines of communication open!

Bonus tip:

8. Lean in, comms are key. Don't be afraid of hard chats!

Don't be a stranger to hard chats.

Clear, honest communication keeps the team humming like a well-oiled engine.

TAKE ACTION THIS MONTH

  • Schedule 1-2-1 meetings with each team member to check in on their wellbeing and goals. A healthy and happy team = a healthy and happy business!
  • Host a team building activity that encourages vulnerability and open communication. Holla if you need a hand with this!
  • Evaluate your hiring process to ensure it prioritises candidates with a growth mindset and an aligned purpose. Remember, you can teach the skills.. but the personality traits and characteristics of a person is far more important. This cannot be taught.
