7 Tips To Be An Effective Leader

This Month I would like to take the opportunity to talk about 7 tips to be an effective leader. These tips were defined by one of the greatest Leadership educator in the late twentieth century called Peter Drucker. Peter has been described as "the founder of modern management” .All tips shared by Peter are Common Sense for many of the leaders at this time, but it will be a great opportunity to share these tips with the generation Z who will lead the rudder in the next years.

7 Tips to be an effective leader:

1-??? Be mission-driven

Leaders should take a personal responsibility to communicate effectively with their employees about the mission that need to be accomplished. This way will keep the employees engaged in all stages and they’ll contribute to the best of their ability.

?2-??? Be effective – not efficient

Efficiency is doing things right.? Effectiveness is doing the right things.? It is not about trying to get as many things done as you can.?It is about getting the right things done which should be more important than everything.

?

3-??? To grow faster – put your best people on your best opportunities

You should put the right person in the right place to get the best out of them. Always keep in mind the wise leaders don’t think that they are the smartest persons on the table and that is the secret of their success.

?

4-??? Focus on opportunities, not problems

Most organizations exhausting their best talents on problems when they should use them to focus on opportunities. The High Performance Organizations always looking after the opportunities which will keep the employees excited about the challenges.

?

5-??? Know the power of “planned abandonment”

To be a change leader requires the willingness and ability to change what is already being done just as much as to do new and different things. It requires policies to make the present create the future. The first policy—and the foundation for all the others—is to abandon yesterday. The first need is to free resources from being committed to maintaining what no longer contributes to performance and no longer produces results. In fact, it is not possible to create tomorrow unless one first sloughs off yesterday.

?

6-??? Focus on the Customer

Peter Said “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer”. Leaders should listen to their customers whether these customers are the primary customers or supporting customers like members, partners, employees and others, and make sure the customer’s voice is part of the discussions and decisions each and every day

?

7-??? "What gets measured, gets managed."

Simply if you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it. This is the way wise leaders use to drive the business results in the right direction. It is essential to understand and measure the key performance indicators that forecast future performance. ?High performance organizations have KPIs that they share with employees to help focus on the right things.
