7 Things About Windows You'll Kick Yourself for Not Knowing

In this blog post, I'm going to share with you 7 things about Windows that you'll kick yourself for not knowing. These are some of the best features and shortcuts that Windows has to offer, and they will help you save time, energy, and frustration. Let's get started!

1. Snip & Sketch.

This is a handy tool that lets you capture any part of your screen and annotate it with your pen, touch, or mouse. You can access it by pressing Windows + Shift + S, or by clicking on the Snip & Sketch icon in the Action Center. You can then use it to take screenshots, draw on them, crop them, save them, or share them with others. This is perfect for when you need to explain something, give feedback, or highlight something important.

2. Virtual Desktops.

If you have a lot of windows open and you want to organize them better, you can use virtual desktops to create separate workspaces for different tasks. You can access them by pressing Windows + Tab, or by clicking on the Task View icon in the taskbar. You can then add a new desktop by clicking on the plus sign at the top left corner, and switch between them by clicking on their thumbnails. You can also drag and drop windows from one desktop to another, or use keyboard shortcuts like Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right to move between them.

3. Clipboard History.

Did you know that Windows can store multiple items that you copy and paste? This is called clipboard history, and it's a lifesaver when you need to copy multiple things without losing them. You can access it by pressing Windows + V, or by clicking on the Clipboard icon in the Action Center. You can then see a list of items that you copied recently, and paste them by clicking on them. You can also pin items that you use frequently, or delete items that you don't need.

4. PowerToys.

This is a set of utilities that enhance your Windows experience with some cool features and customizations. You can download PowerToys from GitHub, and install them on your PC. Some of the PowerToys include:

- FancyZones: This lets you create custom layouts for your windows, and snap them into place with ease.

- PowerRename: This lets you rename multiple files at once with advanced options and filters.

- Color Picker: This lets you pick any color from your screen and copy its code to your clipboard.

- Image Resizer: This lets you resize multiple images at once with a right-click menu option.

- Keyboard Manager: This lets you remap your keyboard keys and shortcuts to suit your preferences.

5. Your Phone.

This is an app that lets you connect your Android phone to your PC, and access its features without picking it up. You can download Your Phone from the Microsoft Store, and pair it with your phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Some of the things you can do with Your Phone include:

- See your phone's notifications on your PC, and dismiss them or reply to them.

- See your phone's photos on your PC, and save them or edit them.

- See your phone's messages on your PC, and send or receive texts.

- See your phone's calls on your PC, and make or answer calls.

- See your phone's apps on your PC, and launch or use them.

6. Storage Sense.

This is a feature that helps you free up space on your PC by automatically deleting temporary files and emptying the recycle bin. You can access it by going to Settings > System > Storage > Storage Sense. You can then turn it on or off, and customize its settings according to your needs. You can also manually run Storage Sense by clicking on the Clean Now button.

7. Windows Sandbox.

This is a feature that lets you run any app or file in a safe and isolated environment, without affecting your PC. You can access it by going to Start > Windows Sandbox (you may need to enable it first in Windows Features). You can then drag and drop any app or file into the Sandbox window, and run it as usual. When you're done, you can close the Sandbox window.
