7 Things I Learned on Stratton Mountain (#29029):
- Complacency is the enemy of growth. You must take off the ‘cruise control’ and intentionally push your limits as often as possible.
- Physical discomfort creates emotional connection. You will make your best friends outside of your comfort zone.
- Successful, smart, driven people want to spend time with successful, smart, driven people. Like attracts like.
- You aren’t competing with anyone else - in life or in business - you are always competing with yourself. Never play the comparison game because you will always lose.
- Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard. Take things step by step (literally and figuratively)
- Change your ‘have to’s’ to ‘get to’s.’ I didn’t have to climb a mountain - I got to! View things as privileges, not obligations.
- The climbs I did by myself were the hardest by far. The climbs I did with others felt much easier. The engaging conversation and mutual support made a huge difference. Life was not meant to be tackled alone.
