Mimi.?
What is Mimi??
Mimi is an unusual name of the lead character of an unusual movie “Mimi” released on Netflix. Just like the name, the subject of the movie is unusual, surrogacy. Although it is an unusual topic, the movie is fun to watch. It is about an American couple who hire Mimi to be the surrogate mom for their child.
In my own unusual way, I was able to see a few Talent Management lessons in the movie, which are worth sharing.
1.Talent Identification
Identifying the right talent is the first and the most important step towards talent management. American couple was particular that the surrogate must be an athlete or a dancer to deliver a healthy baby.
2.Competitive Compensation
When you want the best, you have to pay the best. American couple made an offer to Mimi which she could not refuse and changed the path of her life.
3.Success based fee
Talent is effective when you structure the compensation in installment where a large part of compensation is dependent on the key deliverable.?

4.Structured expectations
Talent is effective when you clearly articulate your expectations from the talent. Mimi was given the schedule, regime and diet to follow.
5.Talent Manager
To ensure that talent is focused on deliverables, you need a talent manager. Pankaj Tripathi plays that role. If you have watched it, you can empathize with the HR guys.
6.Continuous Performance Evaluation
Continuous performance evaluation of the talent is important to ensure the right delivery. American couple appointed a doctor for a regular checkup to keep a tab on that.
7.Personal Connection
Even though all the other things are in place. Connection with talent is the most critical aspect of talent management. That is what talent values the most.
This is it. However these lessons are not the spoilers. The movie has much more to offer and becomes very interesting. Above all, it has a very beautiful and unusual message for society. I loved it, hope you would have felt the same way, or will feel the same way when you see it.

3 年Sure, will watch it... And yes, the perspective is valuable. ?? Another such beautiful story I came across recently is in an episode of Modern Love Season 1. A gay couple from New York plan to adopt a baby of a pregnant single mother. Will wait for your take on that too.. ??
