7 Strategies to Stop Getting Drain by Your Problems and Focus on Possibilities

When we talk about mindset, we often find ourselves with three concepts: Positive thinking, negative thinking and possibility thinking. As we all are familiar with positive and negative thinking; possibility thinking is where the magic happens.?

So, what is possibility thinking?

Possibility thinking is a mindset and approach to problem-solving that focuses on exploring and embracing various potential solutions and opportunities rather than dwelling on limitations and constraints. It encourages individuals to be open to new ideas, consider different perspectives, and think creatively about the various ways a situation or challenge can be addressed.

Possibility thinking can be particularly valuable in fields like entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative problem-solving, as it can lead to the discovery of unique solutions and the development of new opportunities. It’s a mindset that encourages individuals to move beyond constraints and limitations, unlocking their potential to create and innovate.

We often find ourselves entangled in a web of problems, both big and small, that can be overwhelming and draining. However, in both personal and professional realms, it’s crucial to find a way to stop getting drained by problems and shift our focus towards the realm of possibilities.?

Today, I am going to share the power of shifting your thinking with 7 strategies to implement in your life.?

1. Mastering Mindfulness and Perspective Shift

We are very susceptible to negativity. Just when we thought we achieved positivity in life, the reality seems to be different. Being present is very important in our life. In an era of technology, where people seems to work non-stop on gadgets has been one of the setbacks for mindful living. When was the last time you had a mindful dinner? Do you remember the exact taste of your food?

The negative energy is flowing everywhere. It is so hard not to be in that atmosphere where it ruins our day. A mindful approach, akin to personal life, can be a game-changer. By staying present in the workplace, individuals can better understand their roles and the bigger picture, realizing that challenges are temporary phases on the path to success.

I recommend practicing deep breathing exercises and journal your day. It will help you keep in track of your day to day activities with deep breathing exercises to help you relax and focus on the present.

2. Breaking Down Complex Projects/Ideas

One of the important exercise to know. If you are constantly trying to break down complex ideas or projects into simple understandable form, then you are doing great. It gives you an upper-hand in any of the information you want to have because you have analyzed before. This is where possibility thinking join hands. By combining possibility thinking into your work, you can elevate the deep understanding of whatever you are working at and solve the problems at ease.

This comes from my personal experience. Being a Campaign Manager, I have many problems arising in front of me that just seems difficult to solve. Every time I look at those problems it gets more and more difficult. At these times, I practice deep breathing and look at those problems with serene manner. Remember every problem can be solved with calm and poised attitude.?

So, you have to teach yourself to break down the root of the problems that has been causing it, and solve them. There is a saying “if you have figured out the nature of your problem, then, the problem is 70% solved”.

3. Seeking Support and Collaboration

If you want to grow in life, you must form the habit of seeking support form others. There is a saying that goes, “If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.” The more you look at the statement the deeper it goes. I can relate to the introvert people who are new to the job, who gets uncomfortable to seek external validation because it is not their niche to speak of. Introverts tend to struggle at the work-life till they are comfortable and familiar with the people and working environment.?

The positive and possibility mindset will take you higher and higher position of greatness in life. These mindset will teach you to take life as learning ground from each of the people you meet. Whether you seek support from your colleague, boss, mentor, family member or anyone you think of; remember that asking is not a sign of weakness, it is the formidability of strong foundation of learning and growing. So, go there and rock out. Seek uncomfortable situations that you think will help you to grow.?

4. Goal Setting and Visualization

How often do you set goals? How often do you revisit your list??

I don’t know if you know but goal-setting is one of the powerful habits you can ever think of.?

Setting goals is a fundamental aspect of personal and professional growth. Goals provide direction, motivation, and a sense of purpose in our lives. They help us move forward, achieve our desired outcomes, and improve our overall productivity.?

Goal setting has been one of my daily lifestyle. First thing in the morning, I write my goals for the rest of my day. It helps me to move forward and get my work done. Goal setting helps me to avoid all the unnecessary things and focus on what is best and effective. With goal setting, I recommend applying visualization technique to help you get ahead in life.

Visualization is a potent technique that empowers individuals in reaching their objectives. It involves crafting a mental picture of the goals we aspire to achieve, which serves as a driving force for maintaining our focus and motivation. Through this mental exercise, you can also anticipate hurdles that might arise and proactively devise plans to overcome them.

In summary, both goal setting and visualization should be properly implemented. Make sure you have purpose to live, work or anything you do. Make your life worthy and aspiring.?

5. Learning from Adversity

Adversity is a common experience in life. It refers to challenges, difficulties, or hardships that we face in our daily lives.?

Adversity is not something that is desirable, but it is something that people like me, you and all have to deal with at some point in our lives. The ability to overcome adversity is what makes us stronger and more resilient.?

Adversity can come in many forms. It can be an illness, a financial setback, a loss of a loved one, a failed relationship, or even a workplace conflict. Whatever the form, the experience can be overwhelming and stressful.?

However, it is important to remember that adversity is a part of life, and it can be an opportunity for growth and development. When we face adversity, we are forced to confront our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. This can be a painful process, but it is necessary for personal growth.?

Adversity can also teach us important lessons about resilience, determination, and perseverance (three important factors of possibilty thinking). When we overcome challenges, we gain a sense of accomplishment and confidence that can help us in future situations. By learning how to navigate difficult times, we can become more resilient and better equipped to handle future challenges.?

When we face challenges, we often turn to others for support and encouragement. This is where seeking support and validation comes in place. Remember, we discussed earlier. Adversity can also create opportunities for acts of kindness and generosity, as people rally to help those who are struggling.?

So, it’s important to remember that we are capable of overcoming adversity and emerging from it better and stronger than ever before. While it is never easy, it can be an opportunity for growth and development.

6. Self-care and resilience

Self-care is vital to boosting self-confidence, maintaining good health, increasing your productivity and focus, and lowering your stress level. Taking good care of ourselves means that we are at our best when we need to take care of others?—?whether that is being a parent, student or interacting with co-workers.

By taking time to care for your mental and physical wellbeing, self-care helps you stay focused, rejuvenated and stress-free. Importantly, it also helps stave off the dreaded burn out.

Taking care of yourself is essential for bringing harmony to your life. Adding a self-care routine to your daily chores does more than you might think, and it brings you closer to a healthy, fulfilled, and happy YOU.

7. Continuous Learning and Adaptation

Continuous learning, also known as constant learning, is the concept of always expanding your knowledge to gain new skills and expertise. This can come in many forms, from formal course taking to casual social learning. It involves self-initiative and taking on challenges.

When leveraged effectively, continuous learning forms a mutually beneficial relationship with adaptability. Not only does heightened opportunity and access to learning drive adaptability?, but more adaptable people are better able to leverage that learning for their own benefit.

Possibility mindset is very crucial in the process of continuous learning. Possibility mindset gives you way to follow the path whether it may or may not be right. If right, you will enjoy the good deed. If not, you will learn from the mistakes and learn from it. This will ensure growth and form a unbreakable resilience within you.
