7 Signs that You Have a Budding Leader on Your Tea

It is always important to recognize your team members with budding leadership qualities in order to?develop them in the right direction for growing success within your organization. As a leader, your responsibility to develop is made easier when you can identify obvious potential within your team. With a growing need for quality leadership talent, it is becoming more necessary to properly and timely develop your talent within. In this blog, we discuss 7 signs that you have a budding leader already on your team.

  1. Your team member gives perspective beyond his/ her role generously.?He/she takes the risk of sharing his/ her opinion and challenges other areas of the business even though there is no immediate benefit to him/her.
  2. He is concerned about the best interests of you as the leader/ manager as well as the rest of the team.?This team member genuinely cares about others and does not find it robbery to look out for the welfare of those around him.
  3. She is hungry for work that exceeds the current task level of completion.?She may excel at the current work level but appreciates work on a higher level of challenge and requests greater responsibility.
  4. He exudes a high level of emotional intelligence.?Even when negativity surrounds and/or faces him, he remains cool under pressure. He is a thermostat versus a thermometer for those around him.
  5. She is comfortable and confident communicating with all levels of the organization.?She can relate to her manager, the CEO and the person at the front desk.
  6. He is generous with sharing credit for work. He does not have to take all the credit and?does not?mind sharing his work. This is a sign of a good delegator.
  7. She is someone, on whom you can rely to take some of your responsibilities in your absence.
