7 reasons you are not achieving your social media goals.

As you navigate through the first weeks of 2024, those in the sports sector should reassess and realign with your New Year's resolutions. This period is more than just a fresh calendar page; it's an opportunity to redefine your professional goals and personal well-being.

In the fast-paced world of sports, it's easy to fall into patterns that don't achieve your goals. For example

  • Time wasting in non-productive activities can delay important projects.
  • Overthinking can paralyse action.
  • Mindless scrolling through endless feeds can distract from critical decision-making.
  • Inactivity, especially in a field as dynamic as sports, can lead to missed opportunities.
  • Constantly comparing your progress to others can diminish your uniqueness.
  • Inauthenticity in our dealings can erode trust and reputation.
  • Rushing ahead without strategic planning can lead to unsustainable growth.


So how can we avoid falling down the same rabbit holes as 2023?

  • Productivity and Focus: Allocate your time and resources effectively. Prioritise tasks that align with your core business objectives and delegate or eliminate distractions.
  • Set Intentions: Clearly define your goals for your business this year. Are you aiming to create greater awareness, increase levels of engagement, or strengthen your brand presence as a platform thought leader?
  • Embracing Discomfort: Growing your social medi presence often comes from stepping out of your comfort zones. Whether it's exploring posting strategies or adopting new features, embrace the challenges.
  • Doing Things Your Way: Innovation is key in sports business. Don't be afraid to try new strategies or unconventional approaches if they align with your vision and values. Don't follow the crowd.

  • More Physical Movement: As leaders in the sports industry, embody the lifestyle. Regular physical activity not only benefits health but also enhances mental clarity and creativity and creates another connection point with your audience.
  • Celebrating the Small Wins: Every milestone, no matter how small, is a step towards your larger goals. Recognise and celebrate these achievements to maintain motivation and team morale. Think of it as a training plan, smash that PB.
  • Gratitude: A grateful mindset fosters positivity and resilience.


Remember, in the world of social media, it's easy to feel overshadowed by others' achievements. Forget the hype, the constant comparison think about your audience and what they want, then deliver that.
