We should be aware that there are at least three forces that will hinder preparation and misshape transformations that will either delay benefits or create drawbacks. All three are fueled by ignorance (willful or not) and prejudice (unaware or stubbornly held). The first negative force is absence of education and knowledge that are preconditions to appreciate the positively transformative force that AI can be. People who are old or poor or marginalized in other ways are excluded from directly being benefitted. The second is a technophobic, conservative minority that will actively play upon fears of others to further their close-mindedness and lament any development. Finally, there are those that would not willingly surrender their economic or social privileges that come from economic dominance. They would willingly strategically support the second group to spread fear at the first group and stall any development that would benefit the public or their competitors.

Wohooo Praise the Lord AKA AI. With all understanding for What AI can do - we still battle the many many posts/messages/ articles which describe how where and how much AI replaces (not may but IS currently doing) humans in work. Yes we can automate many things but some simple jobs are held by people who cannot "elevate" to the next level so their jobs are being cut - creating thousands of people with no chance to get a job in the future and provide for their families. How do we address this "hype" - and it is happening world wide.. I agree with many points in the article but it misses the "human factor" or the fact that maybe sometimes NOT automating things can provide for some humans a meaning in (work) life ?
