There is a new trend of having "No resolutions" as a resolution at the beginning of the year. I heard various reasons people state either explicitly or indirectly...
1. I don't keep my resolutions for very long
SM: You really don't want to change.. whether resolution or not... you are happy being in your comfort zone... any change for becoming even better is avoided with an excuse of that I would not remain in my original me...
2. I don't think that the new year is the only time when I should think of making resolutions... through out the year I can make resolutions...
SM: You are damn right! Through out the year we can make resolutions and if one is so particular about an occasion, the Indian calendar would give you plenty of occasions... e.g. various other regional new years, other festivals and there are another 11 months starting in the year anyway...
3. I don't find any unique resolution to make
SM: every human being is unique and the situation and circumstances one makes a resolution and then follows it through is unique... Trust yourself and make a resolution, it is already unique...
4. I'm not motivated enough to make and then follow through the resolution
SM: Good enough, probably the foremost resolution you need is to find out some motivation for your life... dont sit and read my article, go out and enjoy the life, you will find a lot of motivation
5. I don't find any resolution to make for myself... the ones others are making sounds too silly...
SM: The silly looking resolutions are at times the most difficult for the person who is making the resolution. Make a tough one for you, don't get surprised if someone else thinks it is silly... why bother... if you really want to make some changes, go for it...
6. I don't need any resolutions to make, I'm already at my best and don't want to make any other change
SM: Yes, Mr. Perfect, it is time for you to go to Himalayas since you are the perfect human being on the earth!
7. I don't want to make resolutions at the new year since I keep making several resolutions and follow it through out the year... I don't need a special date or time... I make instant decisions and execute it immediately and those are my resolutions for the year
SM: You are generally a leader since you trigger changes and keep it a continual process. Will it be too difficult to start right from the first day of the year? Well, you could be a change agent in a society or a organization or in family, keep it up!!!
Basic human instinct of that of human beings like change on a continual basis, however there are times when the process of going through the change scares us... Once you achieve the change the steps would be a fond memory forever!!!
Happy New Year!

9 年Prefer to set a resolution/goal time to time & achieve those within a timeline... This year, I did resolution on the very first day, for which I became quite disciplined on my approach & behavior on that particular resolution from early of the New Year..... yes, I absolutely believe that we don't need any special day to do resolution rather than we can do resolution on any day & try to make it special by becoming expert on that or achieve the resolution/goal .... Chasing or setting target always motivates me indeed !!!! Happy Reading ... Keep Writing Shankar Mridha :-)
