I call it: REFLECT. ?Imagine these questions as compass points, guiding you towards understanding the deeper systems of your thoughts and actions. These questions aren't simply prompts; they're foundational tools to clarify your thinking and get clarity on your "where to from here?" .

When you apply intetional thinking and a dash of introspection, they'll help you pivot from merely going through the motions to genuinely living in alignment with your purpose.; REFLECT is like having keys to unlocking your current thought patterns and move you proactively forward and back to your purpose-driven life. Each letter serves as a signpost, guiding your next move.

  • On a scale of 1-10, how emotionally charged is this issue for you?
  • What are the dominant feelings associated with it?

(Remember, 'worry' is a thought. For instance, "What if I fail?" Behind that worry often lies an emotion like fear.)

Evaluation:

What am I thinking? (no judgement)

Observing your thoughts without prejudice offers valuable insights into your mind's landscape and the narratives you create.

  • What are the primary thoughts surrounding this issue?
  • Have you spun a story around this? What is it?
  • What beliefs might be fueling these narratives?
  • Are you ascribing a particular meaning to them? (meanings about self, others or the world)

Feelings:

What am I feeling? (no judgement)

Gaining clarity on your feelings can be pivotal in shaping your responses and choices in alignment with your core values.

  • Can you pinpoint what triggered these emotions?
  • Were you to relay this feeling to someone unfamiliar, how would you phrase this feeling?
  • What assumptions am I makeing here? What expectations do I have that aren't being met?

Detecting your behavioral responses helps you discern patterns, promoting self-growth by acknowledging areas of change.

  • What behaviors stem from the interplay of these thoughts and feelings?
  • Any past instances that might influence this present reaction?
  • Is there a persistent thought-feeling-behavior chain? Let's challenge it.

Elevate:

Elevate Your Perspective.

Choosing to look beyond the immediate, to find the lessons or positive aspects, empowers you to handle adversity with grace.

  • Can you identify a positive facet you're currently overlooking?
  • If mentored, how might they perceive this?
  • Looking a decade ahead, would this issue still loom large?
  • What's right about this you're just not seeing at the moment?

Course:

What's the most obvious thing I can act on now?

Deciding upon and undertaking a clear, immediate action can be a catalyst, propelling you from inactivity to a growth trajectory. Without overwhelming yourself, can you just take a baby step in the new direction?

  • Through matured lenses, what seems like the next rational step?
  • Can you identify an immediate, small stride towards betterment?
  • If you could channel someone's wisdom, whose would it be? What might be their counsel?
