7. Prevention Better Than Cure
As a Responsible Company we often do POSH Awareness session for our employees. These are the few Pointers, and highlighters that one can look for to avoid situation of the Sexual Harassment. If you come across such behavior, or indicators it’s time to be cautious.
- Do not take advice from those who has a vested (Sexual/Envious/Competitor) interest in you …. They would only try to exploit the opportunity for them.
- The Perverts can be Married, Married with Kids, Love Marriage, Arranged Marriage, Non Married, Aged, Young, Middle Age, Male, Female, Transgender, Successful, Non Successful, any one, they come in all shape and size. Do not judge on by appearance but by actions
- If someone has openly shown the interest of Lust with you, try to be away, from them, as the only thing that they intend is to make you sleep with them. And they can act as Best Angel, Favor Promotions, Salary Hike, Job from their references, Job in their own Company, Job in their Friends Company, Favours to your relatives, crying & showing false love, Painting an image of non working marriage or failed marriage, false showcase of affections and depressions, trying to be the guiding angel, Coach, and the most helpful and righteous person, then slowly striking when you are most vulnerable by blackmailing or emotionally black mailing or showing false love
- Do not take any pricy gifts and favors from anyone, there is nothing called as “Free Lunch in this World”, they will come back with their wish list
- Peverts don’t have to be in Formal shirts and trouser, He/She can suit up in best dress and at better designation
- Do not share or involve others in your personal life, and if one is trying to get into your personal Space stop them before it is too late. he just want to get in your family or in personal life just to have an uninterrupted access to you and if the things go wrong just to maintain his image.
- In Professional & personal life, being silent is often considered as “OK” or “Positive Consent”. Later, even if you revolt, it will be have lesser ears and one can manipulate the situation, saying you are plotting against them as you have refused or denied the wanted things
- Document the things that you think can be useful for future.
- If you hear something odd, go and confirm with the person than to believe. They will only spread lies, the things that will make their hold strong
- No one changes, its in DNA, no matter what one says.
- Always keep someone in your family informed about the situations so that your family is aware and take necessary actions also, in case if time and situation does not favors you, at least that one person can run for your defense
- To judge a person, compare their actions with the words and not their Words
