The 7 Pillars for Sales & Marketing Success As A Coach

Pillar #1 - Authenticity. Authenticity is a key ingredient to success as a coach. It has been a part of our history since the beginning of time. It is the ability to be genuine, honest, and true to oneself. Authenticity continues to be relevant today, especially in the age of social media where people are craving real, authentic connections. As a coach, it is important to be authentic in your approach, to tell your story, and be honest about your experiences. The more authentic you are, the more trust you will build with your clients. This is perfectly aligned with good marketing.
Pillar #2 - Consistency. How consistent are you in your sales & marketing approach as a coach? Consistency is the secret ingredient to success, as you well know. How well are you applying this to lead generation & sales? Create a checklist of tasks that'll help you generate demand to your coaching business & stick to it every day. Don't try to be perfect; focus on creating habits & momentum. Momentum solves most things: and you'll soon find that marketing can be much more aligned with coaching than you might think.
Pillar #3 - Communication. Communication is the heart of any coaching relationship. It’s important to have clear and open lines of communication with your clients. Communication helps establish trust, understanding, and clarity between coach and client. As a coach, developing good communication skills is vital to building a successful business. Why would it be any different in the sales & marketing stages? Acquire your clients by listening attentively to the market, adjusting your communication style accordingly & clearly articulating how you can help people. See the alignments yet?
Pillar #4 - Mindset. Do you have a growth mindset? I know you do - but do you apply it in every realm? Are you continuously looking for ways to enhance how you "create your clients", not just how you coach them? A growth mindset is characterized by a belief that our abilities are not fixed but can be developed through effort and dedication. In my experience: most coaches would do well to challenge their beliefs surrounding sales & marketing & cultivate the same growth mindset as you facilitate in your clients.
Pillar #6 - Content. High-quality social media content is crucial for the success of a coaching business in today's digital age. A coach needs to have a strong online presence to reach and engage with their audience. Create compelling and informative content that resonates with your potential client. How? Apply the principles above. Coaches should establish themselves as an authority in their field and build a loyal following - it'll not only build your brand but also position you as a thought leader & work as a way to recreate the word-of-mouth effect.

Pillar #7 - Connections. You know how essential networking is. Why not use social media, and the content you create, as a springboard to establish new connections & spark up conversations? Build relationships and create opportunities for collaboration. Simply talking to more people (especially if they already resonate with your approach) can lead to new clients, partnerships, and referrals. When you build new connections: reframe "lead generation" as "lead nurturing" and apply the lens of coaching to the conversations: to help the person in front of you as much as possible given their current position.
In conclusion, these are the seven pillars that have helped me build my coaching business in a way that felt aligned with my values as a coach.
I had to challenge my limiting beliefs: but once I did I realized it's not only possible to earn a lot of money as a coach: it's directly aligned with my value of helping more people.
Sales & marketing can follow the same principles as coaching - if you allow it.
