The 7 “Myths” about success.

The 7 “Myths” about success.

The 7 “Myths” about success

1)??Good guys finish last: Nothing could be farther from the truth, though it often seems so. In the long run, it’s in fact, the good guys who have the better chance of not only getting success, but they can sustain their success for long, and with happiness.

?2)??Winners never quit and quitters never win: So many times, we admonish ourselves, or get admonished by our near and dear ones, for quitting. It is alright to quit, if you find you are trying to do something that you are not passionate about. I quit what I did for over 2 decades and achieved true success, only after that.

?3)??It’s “only” about Hard work: This perception often gets created in our minds at a younger age. If you think long and hard, you will realize that in any organization, the people that work hardest, are those that do physical labour. While working hard is very important, you need a lot more than that, to achieve success.

?4)??Only college Degrees can get you success: College Degrees can get you some openings, but then Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg all dropped out of college, before they could collect their diplomas. So, in case you are not academically inclined, or if circumstances prevent you from getting college degrees, that cannot be an excuse for not becoming successful.

?5)??You have to be a workaholic: In real life, “Work-Smart” is more powerful than “work-hard”. You will learn later on in this book, that becoming a workaholic could, in fact, take your successful away from you.

?6)??You need money to be successful: I have seen many people lament that they could have done so much more in life, if only they had the financial backing. Oprah Winfrey, Ralph Lauren, Dhirubhai Ambani, APJ Abdul Kalam, Superstar Rajnikant and many more came from very humble beginnings, but they never let that stop them.

?7)??Success is an accident: Often, when others get success, we like to attribute it to their luck, or simply shoo it away, saying it was an accident! Believing in this Myth, is the biggest stumbling block we create for ourselves, in our journey towards success.

?Success is never “Received”, it has to be “Achieved”.
