A 7-month LinkedIn hiatus was the best move I made in 2024

Style & Confidence Coach → You hate getting dressed and you think to yourself, "I guess I'll just throw this on again"
I stopped posting my own content on LinkedIn May 20, 2024.
I got the ick.
But in hindsight, my intuition was actually redirecting me to a bigger perspective, a greater mission and a broader impact.?
The thought of creating a post about “What clothes are trendy this season” or “Why you shouldn’t wear skinny jeans” repulsed me.
I didn’t know why I was so put-off by style content but I trusted the feeling and didn’t force it.
Instead, I paused and created space for whatever was trying to come through.
Honestly, it was almost like going through a breakup with a version of myself that I had been building for 18 months.
I felt so lost and the self-doubt was crippling. I spent hours doom-scrolling on Instagram, barely dragging my a$$ out of bed for weeks.
I knew I needed to focus on something different for a while so I started to explore other skills and interests.
During my time away, I took a step back to reconnect with creativity and allowed myself to ask bigger questions about what style really means and why it matters.
This inspiration led to a major breakthrough.
You can get the juicy details about the breakthrough, the rabbit hole I've been down and what is to come in 2025 over at The Mindful Dresser.

What is 'The Mindful Dresser'?
Well, I'm glad you asked!
Now that I’m plugged back into creativity & inspiration, I'm also FREEING myself from being a slave to social media algorithms.
As part of this modern-day rebellion, I stumbled upon a new platform (called Substack) where I can write, share helpful content, be creative, and most importantly connect with readers (like you!) without being censored or my content being limited from reaching you.
The Mindful Dresser is my new newsletter and community (hosted on Substack) where I’ll be posting unfiltered insights, stories and resources on:
You'll still see me floating around on LinkedIn but The Mindful Dresser is where I'll be sharing the real goods.
So if you want the real goods, you can subscribe here to receive every new edition straight to your inbox.
Ahhh, that felt good to get off my chest. And actually it feels good to be back. On my own terms.
Hope to have you come along for the ride- see you over at The Mindful Dresser!
XO,
Julie
P.S. what projects do you have on the horizon for 2025? ( I actually mean it- reply with a comment and let me know so I can cheer you on!)
P.P.S. P.P.S. I'm trying this new thing where I ask people what they like to learn from me- I'm especially interested to know what YOU think and will love you forever when you take 3 minutes to answer these q’s.
