7 lessons on our 7th Birthday!

Today is C&C Search's 7th birthday - a proud and emotional day! I took some time to reflect on our journey as a business and the lessons I had learnt along the way. Here are the seven I wanted to share with you...

1. Selling is serving, be proud to own your zone of genius and share what you offer wherever and whenever you can! We do what we do because we are deeply proud of the impact we make. 
2. Take small steps to create big results. Build in the rituals and routines that will support you over time to create your vision. It isn’t a race and looking left and right will just slow you down. It’s your path and you get to decide what route to take and how to get to your destination. When you are really connected to your 'why' this becomes instinctive!
3. Shift your perspective on failure and look for the lesson and gift in everything that doesn’t go as you’d hoped. This way you get to evolve and up-level rather than being sucked into extremely limiting blame and resentment. 
4. Take it seriously from the start. Yes, it takes hard work, passion, commitment and consistency. I’m not sure when hard work seemed to get such bad pr...from my experience it creates success if it’s married with purpose and service. 
5. Be open to talking with anyone and treat everyone you meet with kindness and compassion (oh and that very much includes you too). Grab opportunities to collaborate and remember to grab the hands of those coming behind you and pull them up!
6. Let go of perfectionism - it’s the enemy of progress and self-esteem. 
7. Your mindset is your compass always keep asking yourself - what would the older wiser me advise me to do right now...ignore the wisdom that comes at your peril (I speak from experience).
