7 ideas to be a more interesting person.

7 ideas to be a more interesting person.

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss

We’ve all met that person that exemplifies fun and adventure. They live life to the fullest and have an aura of mystery that makes them alluring.

So, what makes them so intriguing?

They are true to their curiosities and receptive to new experiences.

Ironically, anyone can learn to be more interesting. Which could lead to; better jobs, better relationships and a more satisfaction life!

Here are 7 qualities interesting people have that make their personalities intoxicating:

Passion. Bill Gates began working with computers at an early age and developed remarkable programming skills. He developed a passion for computers and turned that passion into a hugely profitable business. People with genuine passion inspire others with their incredible talents and commitment to excellence.

Adventurous. Interesting people are true to themselves and have deep convictions. They aren’t afraid to try new things and have the courage to follow their dreams. The experiences they accumulate make them fascinating.

“Uniformity is not very interesting or sustainable - it's boring” - Sasha Velour

Authentic. Interesting people are authentic and never adhere to conformity. The Grateful Dead are one of the most commercially successful bands of all time. They created legions of fans that followed them around the country and participated in their performances. Concerts often last over 3 hours and each one was unpredictable. They allowed people to tape their shows and sold tie-dyed tee shirts. Authenticity rocks and can be highly profitable.

Independent. Following the crowd seldom ends favorable. Crowds lack purpose and often stumble into bad decisions. Besides, bandwagons are boring. Independent people are innovators and following their dreams. They break new ground and motivate others with their inspirational stories.

Small ego. Big egos are never appealing and never inspire anyone who desires true satisfaction in life.   Keanu Reeves is the epitome of humility, and an alluring superstar. A massive success with a tiny ego. At a recent screening of his latest movie, he waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes along with everyone else. Not once did he attempt to play the proverbial; “do you know who I am card”. Once inside, he spent 60 minutes finding the owner of a credit card he found on the ground. Big success and small egos are a beautiful combination.

“When you run into something interesting, drop everything else and study it”. - B. F. Skinner

Love to learn. Interesting people can’t stop learning. They crave new information, and love to satisfy their curiosities. They never stop practicing what they love. Pablo Casals is regarded as one of the best cello players of all time. During an interview at age 95 he was asked why he still practices 6 hours a day? His response; “Because I think I am finally getting the hang of it”. Learn to love learning!

Share generously. Interesting people aren’t stingy with information. They help others succeed by offering insight and wisdom. They share their success and help others achieve their dreams.  Social media is full of ego maniacs that can’t resist accumulating likes and massive followings to endorse their inflated egos. Their public performance is grandiose, but their private behavior repulsive. It’s driven by; jealousy, social comparisons, vanity metrics and superficial values. Interesting people are assiduous and consistent with their kindness, especially when no one is watching.

“Truth is so much more interesting than the fiction we're used to”. - Casey Neistat
