7 Forces for Sustainability: Part One!

In our previous #LEITfacts edition, we discovered all details at our production site in Telfs, Austria. Now, we are shifting our lens to another important topic, which has effects on all of us. At LEITNER, our passion for the mountains and deep connection with nature drive us to protect these precious environments with utmost care. Sustainability lies at the heart of our mission as we utilize cutting-edge technologies and innovative products to shape the future of mobility, not only in winter sports but also in summer sports and urban areas.??

In this edition we explore the first three of seven powerful sustainability forces that exemplify our dedication to creating a greener and more efficient future:

#1 FORCE: DIRECTDRIVE

Our reliable and powerful drive concept ensures safe journeys on ropeways. The LEITNER DirectDrive, which is unique in its kind, operates smoothly without a gearbox and with reduced noise. It needs minimal maintenance and doesn't require any grease. Measured on the service life of 20 years, where the system operates 1.500 hours per year, we are saving 1.750 liters of oil.

Up to 12% of energy can be saved for the operator and the environment. Thanks to the segment design an optimum availability of the system can be ensured, so even when one segment malfunctions, the motor is still able to continue operating. Later the affected part can be replaced quick and easy without opening the roof of the station.

#2 FORCE: LEITDRIVE

Our in-house developed frequency converter, LeitDrive, guarantees high overall efficiency and smooth motor performance in any load range, offering an optimized coordination between motor and frequency converter. It improves the power quality at the feeding point and avoids reactive power, therefore operators can use their power supply much more efficiently. The extremely compact and modular design, with only 400mm width per module, is saving a lot of space. Thanks to the liquid cooling system, waste heat can be processed through heat exchangers in order to provide heating and hot water for the station buildings.?

#3 FORCE: LEITCONTROL

Embrace convenience and efficiency with LeitControl, an innovative operating concept for ropeway systems where the operator panel features all required control keys in one place. Its intuitive, centralized control system reduces training times for operators. It therefore also minimizes errors, ensuring seamless daily operations. For example the previously seven step process of garaging the vehicles, can now be done by a single press of the corresponding control button which then starts the process automatically.

Taking responsibility for future generations and the environment is not something negotiable. It's our mission, which is represented in our product range and daily do’s.
