7 Foods You’re Consuming That Are Killing Your Energy Levels

As a business leader you need to be operating at a high lever by optimizing your performance, sleep, body composition and your decision making.

This will massively increase your chances of success, longevity and reaching your full potential.

I have a solid read up for you today gents, you may want to save and share this.

Here goes:

7 foods you’re consuming that are killing your energy levels

1. Cereal

2. Coffee

3. Refined flour

4. Alcohol

5. Fried food

6. Concentrated fruit juice

7. Energy drinks

Let me dive into each one so it makes sence.

Cereal.

Most breakfast cereals contain low fiber and high amounts of sugar.

In many popular cereals, 50% of the calories are sugar.

This spikes blood sugar and insulin levels, leading to a short rise in energy and followed by a crash.

Coffee.

Caffeine boosts your energy by blocking adenosine.

Adenosine = Neurotransmitter responsible for sleep.

So once the caffeine wears off, the build-up of adenosine binds to your brain’s receptors, causing a crash.

Stick to under 300mg of caffeine/day to prevent this.

Refined flour.

Foods like:

??White bread

? Pastries

? Pasta

Are low in nutrients and digested fast.

This spikes your blood sugar and causes a sharp drop in energy after consuming too much.

The next one is what you've been waiting for ...

Alcohol.

Alcohol acts as a depressant that causes brain activity to slow down.

This negatively affects your ability to get into REM sleep.

Because of this, you to sleep poorly, which drains your energy.

Sticking to 1-2 drinks will have minimal effects on your sleep.

Fried food

Fried foods have high amounts of fat and low amounts of fiber.

Because fat takes longer to move through your GI system and breakdown, it can make you feel sluggish and drain your energy.

Concentrated fruit juice.

Most concentrated juice lacks fiber and is mostly sugar.

Because of this, it spikes your blood sugar levels, then crashes, causing your energy to crash too.

Energy drinks.

Energy drinks contain high amounts of:

1) Sugar

2) Caffeine

Like stated before, added sugars can cause your energy to spike, then drop sharply, causing you to feel more tired than you did before consuming the drink.

They can also cause a caffeine crash later.

I hope that helps and you start making these changes over the next 4 weeks if you want to optimize your performance and energy.
