7 figures businesses aren't all equal (or an indication of winning)

I’ve built 7 figure businesses twice in the last 20+ years

One I followed the rules

The other…

I followed my heart and my calling.?

The first, where I followed the rules, was based on what I thought I should do. I became a consultant in the field I’d excelled at.?

2 clients quickly signed me up and within 6 months I had a team of 4 and was generating 7 figures.

I made a lot of money very quickly.

But wow, did I work hard and long for it. I hustled my way to that success. Sacrificing me along the way, ignoring my instinct

Yes the success was awesome, but the cost was huge. My health and well-being, my passions, my energy and my freedom.?I did everything I thought I should. I hired people, created systems, and scaled as I grew.?

I did it by the book

And the result was a prison. Sure the money was great, 7 figures enables a lot. But I didn’t have the time or energy to enjoy it. And it became easier to measure everything by money.

I wasn’t happy.? I wasn’t making the impact I wanted to.? I was busy being busy and I wasn’t doing what I was born to do.? Deep down I knew all of this.

The second 7 figure business (there were two that failed in between), my current one, is based on my calling, what I was born to do. And it’s completely different in every single way.

It’s based on my purpose, vision, identity and passions.? It feels like my contribution to the world, and to the world I want to see.

I wake up every day excited.? Energised. Ready to go.?

I work 6-8 hours a week. We travel the world as a family.? I choose who I work with (and who I don’t). I don’t have any systems.? I haven’t scaled (well certainly not the traditional way)

It’s everything I ever wanted and more.? I make the impact I also felt I could, I have an abundance of time to play, I have fun (at work and outside of work), I get to choose everything in my life, I earn more than ever before (and it’s so simple)

And I’m free.? Free to do what I want when I want where I want and how I want.The two businesses are night and day.?

Chalk and cheese. In every way. ?
