7 Experiments I’m Running this Month

I’m always banging on about Adam Grant’s "Think Like a Scientist" concept—and for good reason. In a world where AI is accelerating change at an insane pace, the ability to continuously test, learn, and refine is a massive competitive advantage.
But the question I get asked most? What does testing actually look like in practice?
So, this week, I’m lifting the lid on real-world tests we’re running across sales, marketing, and even operations.
Spoiler alert: This isn’t just for salespeople. Everyone on my team runs a test a week—even our multimedia designer split-tests creatives.
How We’re Running Sales & Marketing Experiments Right Now
1) Data-Driven Decisions: The Podcast Rebrand Test
Little secret for you: we’re rebranding our podcast. Instead of picking a name based on gut feel, we’ve taken a page from Steven Bartlett’s playbook.
He tested his book title using low-cost paid ads to see what resonated most with his audience. We’re doing the same—running ads with different podcast title variations and letting the data decide.
No guessing. No bias. Just cold, hard numbers.
2) Which Keynote Title Will Win? Let’s Find Out.
Similarly, when choosing my signature keynote, we’re not relying on "gut feel." We’re testing.
We’re running ads with different keynote titles and tracking which one generates the most engagement—clicks, interest, and demand.
3) LinkedIn’s Vertical Video Shift – Are Sliders Still King?
We’ve been experimenting with LinkedIn content formats. Right now, sliders and video are crushing it for engagement.
If it outperforms everything else, we’ll double down. If not, we pivot.
4) Ditching Overthinking, Embracing Documenting
We analysed my top-performing LinkedIn posts of 2024.
Guess what? Every single one was a spur-of-the-moment insight—a behind-the-scenes snapshot, a quick-fire idea—not a carefully crafted, pre-scheduled post.
So, we’re flipping the script. Instead of sitting around thinking, What should we create?, we’re documenting as we go—capturing ideas in real-time from keynotes, client conversations, and industry insights.
5) AI as My Sidekick
This exact newsletter? I dictated it into our Sales Redefined GPT.
I speak, our trained AI structures the article, and I refine it in minutes. AI does the heavy lifting, cutting down the time from idea to execution.
6) Bridging the Gap Between Learning & Execution
Ever had a brilliant idea from a podcast but forgotten it before you could act on it? Me too.
Here’s how I’m fixing that:
? Listen to a podcast while traveling
? Brainstorm/take notes on paper (helps me digest better)
? Use Otter AI to dictate key takeaways & action points
? Send AI-generated summary to my team
? Log actions into Asana with an owner
The result? We move from inspiration to execution—fast.
7) Co-Pilot: Jumping on the AI Train
We’re late to the party, but we’ve finally jumped on the Co-Pilot train.
First impressions? Not as intuitive as I’d like—I’m having to watch videos and learn—but I’m 100% committed to an AI future.
More to come on this!
