Most serial entrepreneurs don’t have time to write online.

After reading 11 writing books, here’s what I discovered on how to become a great writer in the digital age:

I used to write in long sentences.

Social media users love to consume text-based content who has a conversational tone because it sounds like a letter from a friend.

3. Read a new novel once a?month.

Reading books will help you gain expert knowledge.

Most writers started out as readers. For example, Stephen King read more than 100 books every single year. If you read novels, you will understand the structure of great stories.

Entrepreneurs love to read non-fiction books because it improves their leadership skills. Remember: there is no downside to reading.

4. Share your ideas on social media to gather feedback.

Confidence comes from experience and training.

If you write on social media, you will attract people who share your interests. For example, Tim Denning and Nicolas Cole are friends. And they are both entrepreneurs and digital writers.

Experiments can help you discover new ways of solving valuable problems.

5. Set a writing schedule.

If you don’t have a writing schedule, forget about mastering the craft of writing.

You need to know how to handle critics if you want to be successful.

6. Sleep for 8 hours every single?day.

It’s impossible to produce great prose when you’re sleep deprived.

William Zinsser once said, “Writing is thinking on paper.” The best writers will give you new ideas and perspectives. They don’t care about being liked.

Here are the benefits of great sleep:

? It will improve your mental health.

? It will give you more energy.

? It will help you wake up early. Protect your sleep if you want to have a great mood.

7. Do a deep research on your audience.

Legendary Writer John Steinbeck wrote “In writing, your audience is one single reader.”

There are more than 8 billion people and it’s impossible to please all of them. This is why writers need to choose their audience. For example, Joe Pulizzi writes about content marketing and he wants to help new entrepreneurs to get started in content marketing.

Research is the foundation of great writing.

Digital readers won’t read your work if you don’t solve their problem.
