Here's the thing - without a content marketing strategy, trends are just distractions that will overwhelm you. If you don't have a strategy yet, start there!
But if you do have your strategy sorted, here are the trends I'm seeing emerge:
- SEO with voice search… think about how people speak vs type. "Hey Siri" searches are different from typed ones - adjust your content accordingly!
- Employee Generated Content (EGC) Solo entrepreneur? Even better! YOU are the team. Show your face, share behind-the-scenes content, and let people see the human behind the brand.
- Unpolished, yet quality content! Forget posting daily just to tick a box. Focus on value over frequency. Keep it real, keep it authentic.
- "Ugly" Content…Raw, authentic content is in. Think hand-drawn elements, basic designs, and real moments over perfect aesthetics.
- TikTok-style live energy! Longer, more casual live sessions are coming to other platforms. Think real-time, authentic engagement. I would be interested to see in Instagram jump on this. But streaming is IN!?
- Sub-communities… Build smaller, more intimate spaces. Focus on community over hard selling. Social media should be about being social!?
- AI and human balance… Use AI for productivity but showcase what it can't replicate - your unique stories and experiences.
Remember: You don't need to implement every trend. Choose what aligns with your strategy and what you can consistently maintain.
