7 Common Traits a Highly Intelligent Man Cannot Fake

I’ve?got a thing ?for intelligent men. If he’s eloquent, elegant, and highly intelligent, that’s my man.

Some of us are drawn to highly intelligent men or intelligent people in general. But when it comes to casual dating, smart people are never usually seen as A-plus guys most women crush on.

However, when we want a romantic connection with our partner, the smartest guy in the room usually gets picked.

Dating a highly intelligent man can be both exhilarating and daunting.

There are many great aspects to having a charming, smart man in your life, but it doesn’t come without its challenges.

In this article, I will be discussing seven clear signs you are dating a smart guy.

They enjoy solitude

There is a stereotype that people who don’t talk to others are very intelligent.?Introverts just want to fulfill their needs with the bare minimum.

Smart people avoid unnecessary conversation and interaction because they prefer to spend time by themselves.

They tend to derive less satisfaction than most people do from socializing with friends.

In their solitude, they form a special bond with their minds. This is backed by the fact that one area of the brain — the?anterior prefrontal cortex - helps people pay attention to themselves and demonstrate self-control.

They are experts in random jokes.

You are right to believe that people who make silly jokes are much more intelligent than an average person.

Scientists agree that people who wrote funnier cartoon captions scored higher on measures of verbal intelligence.

Another?study ?found that people who scored higher on verbal and non-verbal intelligence tests were more likely to enjoy and understand “black humor.”

However, those who valued dark humor did not seem crazy or aggressive in any way.

They believe they don’t know anything.

Psychologists discovered the?Dunning Kruger ?effect, which says that incompetent people are bright.?They consistently overestimate their mental abilities. At the same time, intelligent people are far more aware of their limitations.

The theory concludes that the more intelligent a person is, the more he doubts his cognitive abilities.

Smart people are not ashamed to admit they don’t know something. And they are prepared to find out something new when searching for answers.

By remaining intellectually humble, intelligent people are motivated to learn and quiz themselves to check their understanding.

They can be annoyingly curious about everything.

It’s easy to assume that smart people like to read.?But being smart is not having the ability to go through a number of books a day. It’s about having a curiosity about everything and anything.

Curiosity is the key to knowledge and self-improvement.

Smart people want to know the reasons behind things, and if they are not satisfied with the answers, they will seek out answers in other ways and other places.

Smart people are usually curious to know about people’s culture, history, animals, religion, and nature.

While reading lots of books doesn’t prove you are smart, it does show that you like learning and you are curious.

They are very creative.

One reason to believe in their creativity is that an intelligent person can easily improvise on the go.

Creativity is a definitive sign of intelligence because it requires flexible thinking outside the box.

They value thoughts that are not immediate and practical because these moments cultivate the ability to create and innovate.

Rather than being rigid about what must happen, smart people remain flexible and open-minded. And they can easily adjust to life no matter what comes their way.

They are very observant.

Most people talk too much to prove who they are. Smart people do exactly the opposite.

Instead of boasting about their accomplishment or telling people how right they are,?smart people are usually quiet and observant.

They are excellent listeners and prefer to know the other person’s mind before sharing their thoughts. They are very articulate and thoughtful when giving their opinion.

When you have the ability to take everything in, you can easily identify certain patterns others miss.

They are empathetic toward other people.

Smart people are generally in tune with the emotions of people around them. They understand the power dynamics that often influence social relationships because of their empathetic ability.

Psychologists believe having a high emotional quotient is very important in grading an intelligent person.

Empathy is a part of emotional intelligence, and comprehension is part of cognitive intelligence. Empathy connects two people at a personal level, and to be able to do so, a high level of intelligence is necessary.

In order to words, if you can lead with your heart, there’s a good chance that you also lead with your mind.

I love your article, and you have hit the nail on it's proverbial head. Biology has women hardwired to be attracted to men who will progress evolution and who have good genetics. Some parents will fully agree with my 'Papa potential' theory, some kids won't. Life is about choices, so have a beautiful day.
