This International Women's day, I decided to celebrate WOMEN differently...?
"WHY?"
When I stopped to think of what I wanted to share, I immediately thought of writing to Dima, the baby, the girl, the teenager, the waitress, the hostess, the student, the teacher, the mom, the friend, the daughter, the architect, the partner, the career woman, the designer, the lover, the writer, the woman and most importantly Dima THE HUMAN...
I looked at my life and the life of so many women (their teams, their families) I supported during my journey, and I found a pattern... A pattern of 7 most common BELIEFS that got and still get so many women stuck, unable to unlock their untapped potential... (trust me, it is not gender-based because many men reading this post will resonate with it.)
1. FEELING GUILTY: guilty of not doing enough, guilty when at work because I was not giving enough time for my kids and guilty at home because I was not giving enough time for work. LIFE IS ABOUT BALANCE. To succeed, you need to be at peace with every hat you decide to wear. LIVE THE MOMENT AND STOP OVERTHINKING.
2. FEELING NOT GOOD ENOUGH: most of us were raised in households where our parents cared about our safety and stability without understanding the importance of filling our emotional tanks. (We carried on, and a lot of us still do) Out of love, we were pushed to have better grades and results on every level. As we grow in our careers, we need a sense of fulfilment. IT IS TIME TO APPRECIATE WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH. Please make the best of today, and stop attaching and postponing your HAPPINESS until you reach the next milestone.?
3. DEALING WITH THE IMPOSTER SYNDROME: comparison, which is somehow related to point #2, is the main reason you feel, "who am I to do this?" Or "who am I to succeed"... It is all due to a culture of lack where people are focused on competition. We are living in an era where people fight for survival. THERE IS ABUNDANCE AT EVERY LEVEL... YOU NEED TO BELIEVE THAT YOU DESERVE TO BE ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH WITH ABUNDANCE.
4. LACKING SELF-CONFIDENCE: validation and recognition seem to be the focus of so many people out there. Imagine waiting a lifetime for someone to appreciate or acknowledge you and the added value you spread wherever you go. If you do not put yourself first, if you do not appreciate yourself first, no one will do. We were born with built-in powers... some of them are still waiting for us to act so they can be activated. PERFECTIONISM DOES NOT EXIST AS A STANDARD... IT IS RELATIVE AND CHANGES WITH TIME AND CIRCUMSTANCES... We are all perfect to us Now in one way or another... EMBRACE YOUR UNIQUENESS AND CELEBRATE YOU...
5. WANTING TO BE IN CONTROL: The more you seek to control, the more you get stuck. You can only be in control of your body, your behaviour and your mindset. You can only be responsible for your results. Stop being tempted to be in control of those around you because you care. You are only stripping them of their freedom to choose and be, and at the same time, you are stripping yourself of the pleasure of living a mindful life in the name of caring. PEOPLE AROUND YOU NEED YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND SUPPORT... YOU ALSO NEED YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND SUPPORT... Guide and lead rather than controlling and manipulating (indirectly)

6. OVERFOCUSING ON EQUALITY: while the world is busy finding solutions for inequality on every level (gender, age, race, culture....), we must remember that we can not postpone our life feeling like a victim just because someone is not fair. When we look at the laws of nature, we understand that "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW". It is impossible to plant the right seed and cultivate something else. Our responsibility as individuals today is to remind ourselves to keep on doing the right thing over and over again, even if nobody is watching because our results are closely related to our actions. WE ARE ALL EQUAL, YET DIFFERENT... I'm afraid I have to disagree with the saying "everyone is replaceable" because we have something to share in our special way. (A combination of strengths & Weaknesses)
7. STUCK IN TRANSACTION: One common pattern I see is people leading a life of transaction where everything they do is linked to an expectation related to someone else. When you lead your life that way, you are preparing a recipe for disaster. You cannot link your happiness to the actions of someone else. THE SOLUTION IS TO BE YOU...
You can act without thinking about what you will have in return.
Love without thinking about what you will have in return.
You can serve without thinking about what you will have in return.
Do whatever you want while being fully invested and from your heart. Do not doubt whole thinking I want to protect myself from hurt. SELFLOVE IS YOUR PROTECTION...
When you love yourself, you will never get hurt again.?
When you love yourself enough, you understand that those who do not deserve you will eventually leave. You will be happy because you understand that REJECTION is an expression of not being on the same wavelength rather than a feeling of not being good enough.
