In a groundbreaking move, the US and UK have signed an agreement to collaborate on testing and assessing risks from emerging AI models.

This collaboration will involve sharing technical knowledge, information, and talent on AI safety, as both nations have launched their own AI Safety Institutes

The partnership underscores the growing importance of cooperation between nations.

  • OpenAI released Voice Engine tool that can clone your voice with just a 15-second sample. While this technology has the potential to revolutionize voice-based applications, it also raises ethical concerns regarding deepfakes, voice phishing, and unauthorized voice replication. OpenAI plans to mitigate those issues through measures such as limited sample size requirements and explicit consent protocols.
  • ChatGPT 3.5 is now accessible without an account or login, although some features remain exclusive to account holders.
  • Replit, an AI startup and GitHub competitor, has introduced a product that enables developers to collaborate on projects in real-time, accompanied by an AI agent that automatically fixes coding errors. With plans to develop more AI agents to streamline the coding process, Replit claims its proprietary AI model outperforms GPT-4 in coding benchmarks.

Great summary Alex Kouchev, interesting to see US/UK AI collaboration. Personally, I wouldn’t pay for Google advanced AI capabilities as I find OpenAI better currently but I may reconsider if Google catches up to OpenAI in the AI race
