Druk Wangyel Tshechu is the one-day annual event, venue at Dochula Pass at 3,140 meters en-route Thimphu to Punakha features by two of very impressive modern Bhutanese monuments. The festival is commissioned by the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck in 2011 to pay tribute to the wise leadership of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchck and dedicated for the peace and happiness of the Kingdom and world at large.
The festival is a unique festival performed by the Royal Bhutan Armed Force rather than monks or lay people. It is also praises the nonstop endeavours of the Royal Bhutan Army in securing the power and the strength of the nation.
The tour discovers the rich and colourful culture heritage, deeply succeeded in preserving cultural and spiritual way of life. The scenic beauty of the country intends to show the age-old customs and tradition, which are still part of everyday lives of the Bhutanese, even while modernization.
