Artificial Intelligence has been a game-changer in the digital era's transformative landscape. Its profound impact on a range of sectors, especially Project Management, has paved the way for innovative methods, practices, and opportunities.

With this in mind,?Ricardo Viana Vargas, Ph.D.,?and I are excited to?invite you to participate in the?first?Global Survey on Artificial Intelligence in Project Management.?

While various surveys and studies have been conducted in the past on AI and PM, they often predate the explosion of AI technologies and their applications. For instance, the 2017 McKinsey report on AI's impact on Project Management highlighted its potential to automate routine tasks, allowing project managers to focus on strategic aspects.

However, it was conducted during the early stages of AI adoption in PM. Similarly, the 2018 Gartner survey noted the growing interest in AI within PM but the penetration and understanding of AI were still nascent.

Our current survey moves beyond these initial explorations, aiming to investigate the state of AI adoption, its challenges, and potential in PM across various dimensions:

1. Current State of AI Adoption: We aim to assess the adoption rate of AI in PM, the types of AI applications being used, and the challenges encountered during implementation.
2. Impact on Project Performance: By examining AI's influence on project performance metrics, including cost, schedule, quality, and risk management, we aim to identify best practices and uncover AI's potential in enhancing project outcomes.
3. Emerging Trends and Future Directions: We aim to identify emerging trends and predict future trajectories in the AI-PM interplay, focusing on evolving challenges such as remote work, sustainability, and complex stakeholder management.
4. Ethical Considerations: As AI's role in PM continues to grow, it's vital to consider the associated ethical implications and understand the necessary skills and competencies for project professionals in this AI-driven world.
