A Game-Changer for Business Informatics
What is the impact on Strategy Analysis and Business Informatics
Business Intelligence Role – Data Analyst, Visualisation Specialist, and Data Engineers
In recent years, the need for various roles within the data department has become prevalent. When I joined in 2009, there was little distinction and I soon realized that it became tougher for one person to do all the tasks in a big team. This led the BI team to create roles like Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Visualization Specialists. There are many software tools in the market specifically designed to help Visualization Specialists present data as insights. Industry leaders include Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. The choice of a tool is dependent on how Manco wants to see the data and not on what is easier for the data team. Business leaders are the main audience for BI reports and dashboards. Manco is also key to guiding our data and analysis strategy. Having a great relationship between the data team and Manco allows the entire organization to maintain or change the course of action. Being a key person in the Group Technology Finance Department and working so closely with Financial Officers eliminated all the red tape and enabled better decision-making.
