Rule #1 Know Your Ego "When you loose the ego you win, it's really that simple" Sharron Adler----
Your ego is your self-esteem; your measure of self worth an how you think of you. Your ego is how you take silent account of your self importance and defines what you think of yourself.
Why the ego is critical to daily survival, ones ego is often their greatest barrier to personal and professional success. Sadly many people have over inflated egos: they believe the work they do is better then it is, better than their peers.
This over self-importance prevents them from accepting constructive criticism or feedback.
The most successful leaders we've worked with "leave their egos at the door." They approach every situation with a mind to improve themselves an support those around them to do the same.
By honestly evaluating yourself and not allowing your attitude or a feeling of superiority to get in the way others will naturally follow.
You may find it helpful to ask a trusted friend or adviser to help you evaluate your performance (whether that be your work or your personal life). Accept their assessment with an open mind and consider how you might more closely align your ego to your true self.
