Kyler

Kyler Murray is seeking $43-45 million per season

Details:?The report comes from Johnny Venerable (PHNX), who?adds?that negotiations “continue to trend in the right direction.”

  • Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury told reporters earlier this month that he is “praying” for an extension to get done?before?training camp (veterans report on July 26).

$$$:?An average annual value between $43 and $45 million would put Murray in the range of Josh Allen ($43 million) and Patrick Mahomes ($45 million).

  • Aaron Rodgers ($50.3 million) and Deshaun Watson ($46 million) currently lead all quarterbacks in annual pay.

AZ QB Depth:?In the event Murray does not report to training camp, Colt McCoy and Trace McSorley would take the majority of QB reps.

Impact on Lamar:?An eventual Murray extension will set the stage for Lamar Jackson’s negotiations with the Ravens.

Dobbins

JK Dobbins named fantasy football’s top breakout RB; expected to see 17-18 touches per game

Details:?The declaration comes from Jake Ciely (The Athletic), who expects Dobbins to emerge as the?top option?in the Ravens’ backfield.

Profile:?Dobbins missed all of last season with a torn ACL. As a rookie in 2020, he rushed for 805 yards (with an outstanding 6.0 ypc) and scored 9 touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 120 yards.

Breakdown:?Ciely expects Dobbins to get 17-18 touches per game, with No. 2 RB Gus Edwards (who is also coming off a torn ACL) getting 14-15 touches.

Projection:?If Dobbins does average 17-18 touches per game and maintains his 1.02 fantasy points per touch average from 2020 — Ciely expects him to finish the season as a top ten fantasy running back.

PUP??There has been some?recent buzz?that Dobbins, who did not participate in OTAs/minicamp due to ACL rehab, could start the season on the PUP list — which would obviously put a damper on his fantasy upside.

WRs

Justin Jefferson and Cooper Kupp are co-favorites to lead the league in 2022 receiving yards

Details:?Jefferson and Kupp each have +900 odds to lead the league in receiving. They’re followed by Ja’Marr Chase (+1200), Davante Adams (+1200), and Cedee Lamb (+1400).

Jefferson:?Jefferson finished fourth in receiving yards last season. He caught 108 of 167 targets (64.7% catch-rate) for 1,616 yards and 10 touchdowns.

  • New HC Kevin O’Connell is expected to take a pass-first approach to the Vikings’ offense, which should lead to even more targets for Jefferson.

Kupp:?Kupp led the league in receiving yards last season. He caught 145 of 191 targets (75.9% catch-rate) for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns.

  • After getting destroyed last year, it’s safe to assume that opposing defenses will devote more resources to stopping Kupp this upcoming season, which could lead to a decrease in targets.

#11:?Interestingly DeAndre Hopkins — who is suspended for the first six games of the season — is tied with Mark Andrews for the eleventh best odds (+2500). Hopkins comes in ahead of notable stars like A.J. Brown (+4000), DJ Moore (+4000), Keenan Allen (+4000), and DK Metcalf (+5000).

Bears

S Jaquan Brisker and CB Kyler Gordon stood out during the Bears’ offseason program

Details:?Adam Jahns (The Athletic) writes that Brisker and Gordon each picked off passes and forced fumbles during OTAs and minicamp. He expects both rookies to open the season as?starters.

Brisker:?Chicago selected Brisker, out of Penn State, 48th overall. The 6-1, 199-pounder totaled 63 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 5 pass deflections last season. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds.

  • Albert Breer mentioned last week that he heard a lot of?positive buzz?surrounding Brisker over the spring.

CHI S Depth:?Brisker will likely start alongside 2x Pro Bowl safety Eddie Jackson. DeAndre Houston-Carson and rookie seventh-rounder Elijah Hicks will provide depth.

Gordon:?The Bears selected Gordon, out of Washington, 48th overall. Opposing quarterbacks completed just 20 of 40 passes (50%) for 234 yards and no touchdowns when?targeting?Gordon in coverage last season. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds.

CHI CB Depth:?Gordon is expected to start on the outside opposite Jaylon Johnson. 2021 sixth-rounder Thomas Graham Jr. will handle nickel duties.

  • The Bears’ defense allowed the third-fewest passing yards (191.6 per game) last season.

Taylor

Connor Orr hints at an increase in receptions for Jonathan Taylor in 2022

Details:?Orr (Sports Illustrated) expects Taylor to catch?a lot?of passes from Matt Ryan, who is one of the most prevalent check-down throwers in the NFL.

  • Ryan?led?the league in check-down passes last season with 110.

Pass-Catching:?Taylor, who won the rushing title in 2021 (1,811 yards), caught 40 of 51 targets (78.4% catch-rate) for 360 yards and 2 touchdowns last season.

Unanimous:?Virtually every fantasy expert considers Taylor to be the No. 1 player in fantasy football. Most rankings have Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, Cooper Kupp, and Najee Harris rounding out the top five.

Guyton

Chargers WR Jalen Guyton is having a “fantastic” offseason

Details:?The?statement?was made by Chargers HC Joe Staley, who said: "Jalen Guyton was fantastic in the offseason. This guy made a lot of big plays for us in the spring. He came in, physically, just in great shape. He's moving great. I thought that he was able to move around. He really did a nice job on special teams."

Guyton Profile:?Guyton has been an effective vertical threat for Justin Herbert — he’s caught 59 passes for 959 yards and 6 touchdowns over the last two seasons. 39 of those receptions (66%) have?resulted?in a first down.

  • Guyton (6-foot-1, 212 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds coming out of North Texas in 2019.

Special Teams:?While Guyton only has two career kick returns under his belt, he’s apparently taken returner reps over the offseason. He's also one of the top gunners on the team.

LAC WR Depth:?Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are set as the Chargers’ top two receivers. Guyton is competing for the No. 3 WR role with 2021 third-rounder Josh Palmer.
