61 Norwin High School Students Earn AP Honors
The College Board has recognized 61 Norwin School District students with AP Scholar Awards. Among the recipients were 24 AP Scholars, 25 AP Scholars with Distinction, and 12 AP Scholars with Honor. The College Board is recognizing these students for their exceptional achievement in the college-level Advanced Placement program.?
“AP is widely accepted as the most rigorous high school program in the country,” said Dr. Jeff Taylor, superintendent of the Norwin School District. “Our students are to be commended for their high level of achievement, as well as their determination and commitment to completing this challenging academic coursework.”
AP Scholars with Distinction are students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams they take, as well as scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Students recognized at this level included Jeff Baker, Arnav Bedekar, Aaron Berger, Dmitri Berger, Andres Breauchy, Jack Chaney, Steven Chi, Nicholas Cormas, Sadie Farrah, David Hersick, Oliver Hinson, Irwin Jiang, Brady Johnson, Julianne Kellar, Mackenzie Krance, Cole Kubistek, Anna Little, Elizabeth Long, Ryan Mesko, Callie Meyer, Noah Mulac, Chase Rose, Seth Sheffler, Victoria Sydeski, and Rex Wu.
AP Scholars with Honor are students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams they take, along with scores of 3 or higher on four or more. Students earning this honor included Amanda Anticole, Ethan Hall, Nathan Link, Margaret MacLaughlin, Taylor Miller, Simone Pal, Ashley Petranka, David Shepherd, Heather Smarick, Paige Tokay, Nicholas Vargo, and Abigail Zula.?

AP Scholar students are those who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. Norwin students earning this distinction were Sophia Alvarez, Tyler Andrews, Aidan Ash, Adam Barrett, Joshua Bazala, Anna Beresnyak, Jacob Biehl, Adyn Brown, Andrew Brown, Kayla Cessna, Jacqueline Chen, Kayden Field, Sofia Garzon, Kylie Makay, Ava Natale, Suhana Navalgund, Matthew Nelson, Megan Potthoff, Sydney Reiter, Rachel Russman, Ethan Stokes, Alexander Taleff, Julia Walko, and Genevieve Wills.?
The Advanced Placement program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school. They may also receive college credit, advanced placement or both for their successful performance on the AP Exams. Students who take these courses are more likely than their peers to complete college within four years.
