90 Seconds on the Learnings I Will Carry from 2020 into 2021

90 Seconds on the Learnings I Will Carry from 2020 into 2021

On New Year’s Eve last year, none of us saw the coming storm. Almost all of us have been impacted by it, some far worse than others. Many of us have lost family and/or friends to it.

As I enter 2021, the following learnings from 2020 will mean much to me:

Life is so precious.

Family. I can’t imagine 2020 without them. The year added new roots of appreciation for them.

Faith and love deepen most in headwinds. Don’t let go when the good times come!

Our responses to headwinds define us. This definition of us will linger in the minds of others when the wind turns.

My attitude is entirely defined by me.

An enemy that we could not even see crossed every border and taught us that we really are all in this together. Imagine the possibilities if we all chose to live a life consistent with this.

There are many very kind people in this world who reached a helping hand to strangers when they fell this year. We all should be such people.

Innovation thrives when drastic change takes place. Seeds of opportunity are everywhere.

It is possible to excel at what you do and still get hurt badly. Hang on tight to your dreams through the storm. Build back.

People matter most in every decision process. Lose sight of this and you will lose.

Things don’t matter.

There is nothing that beats face-to-face interaction... in business ... in life itself.

A year without travel is a tragic one where we lose the opportunity to see scenes that stir our souls and take our breath away.

Eating healthy meals with healthy ingredients for months made me feel so much better.

A long walk is the best way to finish a day.

A strong work ethic works hard when no one is watching.

There are two types of respect that are vital - self and mutual.

Love. Smile. Respect. Listen. Help. Believe. Rebound. Dream. Hope. Strive. Smile Some More!

Hang on tight to what you learned!

Happy New Year!
