60 Days

60 Days. It has been an adventure as I have made my transition to #OpentoWork since my role was impacted by a recent company restructure. What do you do with 60 days? There are so many options.

Have I applied for new roles? Yes.

Have I interviewed for said roles? Yes.

Have I built and established new connections, reached out to professionals, updated my resume, and cover letter, and built a job search tracker? Yes, Yes, Yes.

?

Now all of that matters of course, and is pertinent to my professional development and growth as I move forward. If you have been following me then you know when this journey started I shared I also was implementing a personal tracker for myself with my newfound time. I had previously tracked my items but with the life of a work commuter and 9-10 hr work days, some of those pieces were sporadic at times.

?

I am proud to say that I have now adapted this tracker three times. Why? I followed my trends, and feedback, but needed to make improvements and adjust to new goals. In September, I realized quickly I was accomplishing my daily list by noon and needed more items.? From October, I showed consistency, and in preparation for November, wanted to adjust certain daily goals to focus on longer-term progress (IE: increasing my running pace and shifting from a daily distance goal to a time goal). I have also attached my tracker for November in case you are curious. In addition, if you are curious "Amber what applications do you use?". Apple Fitness <3, Libby, Audible, Audiobook, Duolingo.

?

For the month of October, I am so PROUD of myself.

  • 14 hrs. Yoga
  • 51 miles ran including 1 - 5K Race in Cape Cod
  • 4.5 hrs. HIT Workout
  • 14 hrs. Walking
  • 4 hrs. Biking including 1 day of 23 miles around Martha's Vineyard
  • 62 Spanish Duolingo Lessons
  • 14 hrs. Reading (20 Books Total - Audio & Physical)
  • 60 min. Mindfulness
  • 16 hrs. School Work (Completed 2 Projects)
  • 7 hrs. Studying for PMI CAPM Certification

?

All of these items were in my tracker and I love a good checklist for myself and am so glad to see that I was able to get it done. In addition, I always had something come up that needed to be accounted for. I ended up also taking a try at some DIY:

  • Painted the basement, office, and bottom stairwell
  • Created some cool crafts (Photos below)
  • Edited art photos (Photos below)

?

Now that you have made it this far, you have gathered I am a very organized and detail-orientated individual. I also want you to know that I enjoy the outdoors, creating art, learning, and reading, and taking care of being the best version of Amber that I can be. I am looking forward to seeing how much I can push myself and grow in the process.? Stay tuned for my next progress recap. :)

This is amazing Amber! I've really been focusing on running as well! Completed my first half marathon a couple of weeks ago and have another one coming up here in 11 days! I've attended a professional certification summit and am completing the certification exam today! And I've had more opportunities than ever to enjoy new experiences with my children, such as teaching my 2.5 yr old how to ice skate and being present for my 6 month learning how to crawl! I love knowing that you've taken this time to focus on YOU! As someone who always braced the Thank You Thursday initiative that I started at our previous role, it doesn't surprise me the least that you've used this transition to find inner growth while staying grateful for what you have. Keep it up! I can't wait to see how your journey continues!
