6 Ways to Tell if Your Man is Cheating on You, from a Former Spy and Body Language Expert!

Okay first of all; this one of two articles. This one is for women to find out if their man is cheating, the other, is for men to find out if their woman is cheating. So please don't accuse me of not being fair. Now we've sorted that out, let's get down to business.

1) Gifts. If your man is suddenly showing up with gifts that have been given to him - especially if he doesn't normally receive them - this is a red flag. Even if they seem to be explained, do the explanations make sense? Also if he comes home with a random bottle of cologne for example. Men very seldom go out to make a sole purchase of a single item. By nature, they tend to be very practical creatures. So, to go out and buy a singular item without a valid reason is out of character. Men would more than likely wait until they're actually doing a shopping trip and buy what they need all in one go, as opposed to making a special trip for just one item. Also, is there any sign of the purchase? Receipts or transactions showing on their bank statement/history? If not, then why?

2) Over explaining. As my good friend Lena Sisco likes to say "Liars convince, truth tellers convey." So, if you ask your man where he's been, or where he's going and you get an unexpected and very long winded answer, you might need to ask yourself why. Or even more importantly, ask yourself; is he trying to inform me where he's been, or convince me?

3) Over dressing. Sudden attention to appearance and maintaining a highly groomed image when they don't usually do so, is another red flag. For example if they start overdressing for work, when it's a job they've had for years and never really been that bothered previously. Or, a night out with the lads that's usually a jeans and T-shirt affair but they're recently wearing trousers and a shirt, or are a lot smarter than the norm. This is another red flag. If they usually let the five O'clock shadow remain but now they're regularly clean shaven, hair trimmed and fussy over how they look. Pay more attention to the possible reason why.

4) Less time at home. You've noticed he spends less time at home. Perhaps going out more often, working over, or any number of other things that dictates his time away is taken up. On top of that, when he is at home he seems distant. Look out for my 'singing in the shower' warning. If he always seems happy to be going out alone, but less so or even miserable to be home, this is a major red flag. Also; look out for clock watching behavior. If he's going out; does he appear to be running to a schedule? Especially if it's something that's not time dependent. If it's something that can be done at any time and he seems to be trying to get to it for a specific time, then you should ask why.

5) New interests. This might seem a little unusual but has he suddenly taken up a new hobby or expressed an interest in something that he's never mentioned before. For example; if he suddenly shows a keen interest in something like surfing and he's never even remotely shown any interest in it previously, then you need to ask why. Where did the sudden interest stem from? Especially if he's suddenly looking at surf boards and surfing accessories from nowhere. It's possible, that if he is having a love affair, then the person it's with, is someone who likes to surf or is also interested in that hobby or topic. So, look for any new interests that he's developed, especially if the origin is unknown and unexpected.

6) Unorthodox questions. If you're sitting with your man and he randomly asks something like: Do women find it attractive when a man says/does X behavior? This is usually because in the instance of cheating, the other party will make a remark like: "Oh, I find its so sexy when you do X" or "It really turns me on when a man does/says X" or simply "I like it when you do that" The man will then feel the need to confirm it. So, he might ask you in a casual way and dismiss any reason behind it.

There are many other ways of telling if your partner is cheating some more simple, others extremely more complicated but also extremely more accurate. These though, are my 6 most popular simple ways to get an indication that your man is cheating. Remember, if you think he is, then confronting him is the last thing you want to do, as well as the least likely to work.
