Warranty claim management software enables OEMs to automate the warranty claims processing. Using customer data and purchase history, the claim can be automatically validated. The software is typically useful for OEMs and authorized dealers that perform an in-warranty return of spare parts. But one thing on a note here is that there are various types of claims and to manage such claims through the traditional channel, it’s not possible. So, Intellinet has come-up with this automated solution to digitize the work process. The digital solution is the warranty claim management system.
Let’s have a look at the claims types-
- Plant PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Claim: The plant PDI claim type covers the claim value if any defect comes to any part prior to its delivery to the dealer.
- Dealer PDI (Pre- Delivery Inspection) Claim: The claim is raised after the inspection is done from the dealers' end. If there is any defect in any spare parts or scratch on the body. In such a scenario, parts manager can raise such type of claim in front of the service manager.
- Post Sale Warranty Claim: This type of claim is raised by an authorized dealer on behalf of the end customer. If end customer receives the vehicle in damaged condition, like sear covers are torn or there are scratches on the body, etc. In such situations, the customer has valid reasons to apply for the claim.
- Campaign Claim: Campaign claim is raised by service managers on behalf of the plant. Generally, spare parts are manufactured in bulk through lot process and sometimes there comes a defect in a particular part of a particular lot, so whole lot need to be replaced. In such a scenario, plant recalls all the spare parts of a particular lot from the market and this type of claim will come under campaign claim.
- Goodwill Claim: Goodwill claims can be given to senior citizens or Army personnel by the authorized dealers. Also, they can decide to give goodwill claims to random customers, in order to retain customers.
- Spare Parts claim: The spare part claim is raised when someone purchases any spare part from the authorized dealer and that spare part shows some defect under warranty period, then the customer can go-to dealership for a replacement of part as it comes under warranty.
Example:
A consumer buys a bearing for his car at a cost of $100. The bearing comes with a 1-year warranty against defects, but after 6 months its stops working. The consumer is entitled to a refund or replacement here and this comes under the spare parts warranty. Here, the dealer will raise the claim on behalf of the customer and the service head will pass it, if all the information provided is correct.
All these are the part of automated warranty management software from Intellinet.
