6 ways to keep yourself motivated right now

During this challenging time for everyone has struggled to stay motivated. The global pandemic caused working from home to become the norm. While for some people working from home every day means avoiding commute, saving money, and having more time to spend with their family, for other people it is extremely isolating, lonesome, and difficult. Due to that it can be hard to stay motivated. The best way to stay motivated is to incorporate small habits into your daily routine. Such as:

1.    Adjust your expectations – work can take over your mind, but it is important to remind yourself that your mental health should be your priority. It is okay to take a day off and put yourself first.

2.    Take time for yourself – It is very easy to get caught up in all the tasks that you need to accomplish in a day. Especially when working from home, working a couple extra minutes doesn't feel like a lot of work or putting in a few hours over the weekend doesn't seem like a lot. But it is important to take time off and remind yourself that you need to take a break physically and mentally or else you will risk burning out.

3.    Do what energizes you – Take some time out of every day to do the things that help you feel energized. Whether it is dancing to a song you like, doing for a walk, or calling a friend. Make time for things that you enjoy, that will help you stay motivated.

4.    Schedule & prioritize – Even though you are working from home, it is important to make a schedule or follow it. Have a consistent start at end to the workday, by breaking up your day into smaller, more manageable tasks that you can work through like a checklist. There is something motivating in being able to check off something on your to do list.

5.    Stay Active - staying active is important in the age of working from home. You should try to get out and get some fresh air at least once a day, to help both your physical and mental well-being.

6.    Stay connected - even though you can’t see people the same way you used to before this pandemic it is important to stay connected with your coworkers. Connect on social media, have video chats, engage with your coworkers this will help reduce the feeling of isolation and still make you feel like you are part of a team.
