6 Tools to Increase Your Apps User Base

6 Tools to Increase Your Apps User Base

It is pretty common knowledge that your app is nothing without users. Fans and followers make or break an app and it's not always so easy to tempt them over to you. Thankfully, we have six tips to help you grow your user base.

  1. Work in Partnerships.

Partners can be lifesavers. Try to link up with people and other service providers who may benefit from your work and vice versa. Look for partnerships where you compliment each other. Maybe they have a strong user base but you have other strengths they need.

2. Subscriptions, a variety of ways.

Encourage people, no matter their status, to have some way to support your endeavors and fuel your fire. Consider having a tiered membership option if your app is used via subscriptions or paid memberships. This gives options to more users; in particular, those who can't afford the priciest option, or don't want to pay for it up front. When you have a variety of ways to sign up, your user demographic increases.

3. Get creative with push notifications.

Whatever the scale of your audience -- 200 people or 200 million -- a push notification is something each person has to respond to, whether that’s taking action or not. Test factors like timing, frequency, and tailored specifications for individuals and see what users respond to. Trying a variety of scenarios allows you to see what works and what doesn't, thus giving you insight to continuously improve your strategy. If push notifications aren’t something that follows in line with the essence of your app, find another way to reach out to your users and members, like the next tip.

4. Don’t forget about email.

Push notifications are effective but don’t forget about reaching your users via email. Drip campaigns are often the best ways to convert non-users to paying customers. Email gives you access to those who may no longer be using your app and allows you the opportunity to try and win them back. These conversions can create a snowball effect that will launch you to success in no time.

5. Make it personal.

When customer engagement is high, people are more likely to feel personally connected to your brand. Work on interacting with every user on their level. Tailor communication for active users and those who only use the platform occasionally. Treating users with respect and understanding their level will help you to build credibility and respect in turn.

6. Keep it old fashioned.

Word of mouth is still the best marketing form. We trust the opinions of peers that we relate to more than we will ever trust a marketing campaign. You get word of mouth when you are offering excellent customer service and following the tips above to keep open lines of communication with your users.
