6 Tips to writing a successful blog
Below is a rundown of what a successful blog post could look like. I will use examples from a recent blog written about choosing the best wall padding solutions for your basketball court.
Audience. Who is your target? How will this info help them or guide them? What do they want to read about? What kind of information would they find interesting?
Headline. “How to”, “Tips to”, “Lessons I learned” are all good and engaging headlines. Remember to include the keyword you are targeting for.
“4 Things to consider when choosing the right basketball court wall padding”
Intro. Should repeat the headline and keywords.
“Impact attenuation? Fire-retardancy? What are those?! Here are some tips and suggestions to make sense of it all when choosing the right wall padding for your basketball gym.”
Write. 250 words. That’s it! If you feel like you have more than that to write, think about breaking it up into 2 or more blogs. If you’re talking about a specific product, insert a link to it! Make paragraphs short and if you are numbering, bold them so when scanning, they stand out and readers get the gist. Insert keywords where applicable!
Call-to-Action (CTA). Add links to our wall padding portfolio or to a specific product. Contact, phone number, email.
“Need some more guidance in making the best safety padding choices for your basketball court? Contact Sherry at 1.800.555.5555 ext 250 or email her at [email protected].”
Proof-read!
