Managing your time well is the most effective thing you can do to supercharge your career.

Time management skills include a variety of skills that will help you manage your time well. Some of the most important time management skills include: Organization, Prioritization, Goal-setting, Communication, Planning & Stress management

Here are 6 Time Management Hacks to Organize your Personal & Professional Life-

1. Audit your time

  • Track your daily activities
  • Set an alarm to remind you to record your tasks
  • Analyze your data to determine whore your time is going
  • Plan and prioritize your work via urgency and priority box

2. Block out your day

  • Break your time down into discrete blocks or set increments where you will accomplish specific tasks.
  • You might work with 30 or 60-minute time blocks, assigning tasks like “email catch-up”, “daily meeting,” or “project B” to each 30-minute block.
  • Time blocking is only bad if you don't give yourself the freedom to rest and enjoy your personal time.
  • Scheduling your tasks using time blocking will allow you to get into a more productive rhythm.


3. The Pomodoro Technique

A method for staying focused and mentally fresh

  • Step 1: Pick a task
  • Step 2: Set a 25-minute timer
  • Step 3: Work on your task until the time is up
  • Step 4: Take a 5-minute break
  • Step 5: Every 4 Pomodoros, take a longer 15-30 minutes break

If you wish to keep working even after 25 minutes instead of taking a break, definitely you can. But make sure you give yourself a break after finishing a large & stressful task. Pomodoro Method is built to help procrastinators get started with a task, once you started you can keep going even after the timer.


4. Daily Highlights

The daily highlight is the ultimate hack to get the most important thing done. (This hack appears in the best-selling book “Make Time” by Jake Knapp & John Zeratsky)

  • Select the most important 1 or 2 tasks as daily highlights
  • Remove all of the other Tasks from the list
  • Only focus on the daily highlights
  • If you completed the daily highlights, consider the day productive & reward yourself for that
  • If you cant complete the less important tasks (outside of the daily highlights) don't worry about that.
  • You can put together all of the less important tasks into one single time block another day.

If you consistently focus on completing the most important task of the day - that actually moves you forward towards your GOAL, after a certain period of time you will notice remarkable progress towards your GOAL.

5. The Einstein window

  • The Einstein window is the time each and every single day when you have a mental peak.
  • It is the time of the day you feel capable and productive as your power goes through your work. It normally lasts two to four hours.
  • It can happen at widely different times for different people and can vary based on your lifestyle and diet too.
  • Schedule your most challenging & difficult task at this time each day to take the highest advantage of Einstein Window.


6. Eliminate distraction

  • From checking social media to an unexpected chat with a colleague, we often don't realize the time we spend distracted every day.
