6 Things to Consider in Coping with the Coronavirus.

The #Coronavirus crisis. For some it's inconvenient. For others it's potential financial ruin and worst case, death!

Assuming we're all following the advice of experts and staying home, social distancing and washing your hands with monotonous regularity...

Here's a 6 Point Plan you may find useful.

  1. You: If you find yourself alone and worried, seek support from friends or local groups. This is no time for stubborn pride. Talking and sharing your concerns can in itself relieve pressure and anxiety. People generally like to help others. ??
  2. Positivity: Keep occupied doing what you enjoy, go for walks, create projects in the home, involve others in the home. When was the last time you all played cards or a board game?
  3. Create a Plan: Sit down with your partner and/or family and share in all honesty your fears and bring ideas to the table. Do not panic. Conduct a family review of your finances (business and personal), assets, liabilities and share a desired outcome with group ownership. Don't underestimate this crisis. Work on influencing the best outcome but plan for the worst.
  4. Don't Rely on Government: Whilst governments are trying to help, some more than others, we can't rely on them to deliver for everyone. But spend time understanding what you may be entitled to and claim where you can. Don't be shy!
  5. Consider Others: Check on remote family members, close friends and neighbours, some of whom may have no one they can turn to for support but are too proud to ask. KEEP TALKING! Self isolation doesn't mean no communication.
  6. Becoming Infected with the Coronavirus: In the event that a key household member, whether an elderly relative or child, contracts the Coronavirus, have you already planned your support network. If not, look at that now. Don't take someone to the Doctor's or hospital without expecting them to be kept in and in isolation. So take a bag of essentials. Is there anything that needs taking care of whilst you're away? Kids, elderly relative, pets, deliveries...

Throughout all this, remain positive, stay busy, stay united, be tolerant of others at this trying time, follow the expert's advice, keep your sense of humour and keep your golf clubs clean and ready for action!

Wishing everyone as positive an outcome as possible. Stay healthy and safe.
