“VUCA.” Maybe you’ve heard your colleagues say it. This acronym was developed to capture what life felt like during the Cold War: volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. (Tip) Improving Strategic Clarity in Your Business to Overcome Strategic Blurriness

Businesses are complicated, and sometimes the 50,000-foot vision guiding your team isn’t sufficiently explained to them. Sometimes, you’re unclear about the direction and activities to get to your outcome.

The result is strategic blurriness. I define it as a “fog” that settles over your business. When this happens, your team can’t connect their activities to big-picture business values or goals.

(LGBTQ+) Challenging Workplace Inequality: Tackling the Gay Pay Gap

Back in 2020, I wrote an article called “The Gay Pay Gap. It’s Real.” I was motivated by a startling lack of awareness, even among LGBTQ+ professionals, that gay men earn around 10% to 30% less than similarly qualified non-gay men.

I highlighted three possible factors keeping the pay gap alive:

1. Lack of consistent workplace protections
2. Workplace dynamics limiting access, promotion, and acceptance
3. Longer and more frequent employment gaps.
