6 Strategies That Will Help You Persuade Anyone

In this article, I'm going to tell you a bit about how to persuade people. Now there are tons of books and resources on this topic.?I've had to pitch to so many people over the course of the past 14 years of my career and counting. And I've probably made over 1,000 cold calls. But perhaps the hardest thing for me is actually asking someone to give me something. I've had to walk up to or chat up with both familiar people and random strangers and persuade them to buy into what I'm offering them - whether it's an idea, a product, or service, or any other solution.

In some cases, people have turned down my offer, but in other cases, people have opened up their hearts and embraced my offer and I'm immensely grateful for that. The great thing though is, over the years, I've had a lot of practice. And in this article, I'm going to share with you some strategies that have worked for me on the countless occasions I've had to be persuasive - either in-person or online.

I do hope these ideas will work for you in your business, in your relationships, and in your life.

Number 1:- Act Confident

Even before you open your mouth or type a word, imagine what you would feel if they already said "Yes." If you're timid and unsure of yourself, then your brain will not connect well with your nervous system and you won't flow. The truth is: when you're timid and pessimistic, not only are you not using your full potential, but you appear untrustworthy.

Number 2:- Fully relax your body and your mind

Again, when you're calm and relaxed, people sense it. This builds confidence and eases your nerves.

Number 3:- You Should Listen More Than You Talk

Here's the thing, unconsciously, people know when you're not listening to them. And they will say NO to you.

Number 4:- Consolidate your request into a sentence or two and then clearly articulate it.

Consider these things when you're talking, First, Think about Why the problem you're solving is MOST PRESSING to your target audience. For example, you lost your job, or a major investment, or got slammed by a life-changing disaster that threatened your savings and exposed you to a financial crisis; what did you do about it, and how can they prevent and overcome a financial crisis.

Next, Think about Why your solution is special. For example, you aggregate, manage and train thousands of financial advisors using one simple app. And nobody else is doing that.

Next, Think about Why your solution is valuable to your audience.

For example, how you'll help them save and invest their money. You should also throw in an incentive. Like a giveaway, moneyback guarantee, a bonus, etc. This will encourage them to say "yes". And lastly, Provide Undeniable Proof.

This can be in the form of testimonials from people they know, profit statements, or any other tangible statistical information.

Number 5:- Make your offer super-sweet

And you can do this by putting the spotlight on their desires. Their desires could be work, money, travel, financial compensation, appreciation, assistance, achievement, justice, or any other urgent pressing problem. If you can help them solve their burning desires, they are more likely to say "yes" to you.

Number 6:- Prepare for objections

You can effectively deal with objections by anticipating them beforehand, getting your audience to make small commitments at each stage of the process, and by subtly minimizing their concerns. Bottom line, be ready to put up with objections.

And here are some tips that can help you:

  • Be positive and act like someone who deserves a chance.
  • Reiterate the severity of the problem.
  • Highlight your unique difference.
  • Offer undeniable proof that your solution works.

Now all these points I've just outlined are not just about persuasion, they are about the psychology of connection, mutual understanding, and agreement. So it's not about being accepted or rejected, it's not about your idea, and it's not even about money.

It's really about connection.
