WAREHOUSE MANAGER
3 年It always amazes me, how in this day and age, these loads still happen. I presume this load was coming into the UK, as with our health and safety and training requirements, this should not be happening. There are countries around the world that have the same legislation and training to stop this from happening. But it needs to happen worldwide. If you are loading containers of any description from any country, there should be a standard of training and certification, to prove that your staff are competent to complete the tasks of loading and securing. yes we have the CTU code, but it is only guidance. The Maritime agency and SOLAS have many requirements, and consolidation/container loading is part and parcel of the logistics chain and part of the shipping process, so why should this not include the loading part !! Another part that is of concern, is the poor lorry driver, who has to collect the container from the the port to move to the final destination. They are relying on the shipper at origin, to have loaded and secured this container in a safe manner. The doors are security sealed shut and the driver has no idea, how the goods are secured, if at all they are.
