6 Sales Tips for 2025

Generating sales right now isn't the easiest of tasks.
Which is why I'm sharing these six sales tips to help you generate more sales for your business in 2025.
The six tips I've picked out are from recent guests who have appeared on the Better Presentations More Sales podcast.
They know their sales stuff! And I'm grateful for the time they gave and the tips and advice they all shared on the podcast. Narrowing it down to just six tips from six guests wasn't easy but here they are:
Will Barron – simplify your sales process – focus on what the buyer needs to make a decision and help them take that next step. Will is essentially saying look at the process you put your buyers through - is it designed for you or them? Make it easy for buyers to buy not complicated!
Richard Harris? - ask great questions and let the buyer do the majority of the talking - a great tip from Richard given that salespeople have a reputation for being very talkative - so stop talking and start listening if you want grow sales.

Jonathan Gardner - avoid focusing on talking about your capabilities and your product or service features instead focus on educating the buyers?- this is a key point from Jonathan and neatly follows on from Richard's. Talk about how the buyer will benefit, the transformation they will enjoy from your product or service - don't talk about you!
Nancy Zare Ph.D. - understand your buyers personality traits by getting a feel for them via their websites their social media, etc… and be an active listener - Nancy is a sales psychologist and uses sales psychology to identify how people make buying decisions. You might not be a sales psychologist but some research will help you get a feel for the buyer you are planning to talk to. And again listening is mentioned.
Donald C Kelly - use Linked In video as a direct messaging tool to potential and existing buyers instead of sending emails and check that your banner and professional headline are up-to-date. I was on a LinkedIn workshop recently hosted by Victoria Vickery who reiterated the points Donald shares about ensuring your profile is up to date. Have you used video yet as Donald suggests? If not why not? You will stand out.
David Connors – turn your network into sales. You might be surprised when you look just how many people you know and have connections with through various networks not just business ones - map out those relationships and use them to your advantage. I recently did a keynote for PhD students about setting up as a business consultant and asked them to note down as David suggests all the contacts they have and how those contacts could be a great source of referrals, connections etc... Think about who you know and who they might know who would be useful for you to connect with and start a conversation.
