You know you need to take action. You know your health isn’t where it should be.
Yet, despite knowing all of this, you keep putting it off.
Procrastination is the #1 silent killer that keeps leaders stuck in poor health, low energy, and frustration.
Why do you keep delaying?
And more importantly, what’s the best way to KILL procrastination for good?
#1 - The 5-Minute Rule
If a task seems overwhelming, commit to doing it for 5 minutes.
Often, that’s enough to break inertia and keep going.
This works brilliantly for workouts... start with 5 minutes warm-ups, and chances are, you’ll finish the session.
#2 - Identity Shift
Instead of saying, “I need to work out,” start saying, “I am the kind of person who never misses a workout.”
Identity-based habits stick because they align with who you believe you are.
You don’t ‘try’ to be a CEO... you just are. Apply the same mindset to your fitness.
#3 - Accountability Lock
High performers thrive under pressure, especially when others are watching.
Tell a coach, friend, or team member what you’re committing to.
Better yet... put some skin in the game. When you have a structured program with built-in accountability, you won’t rely on ‘motivation’ to get things done.
#4 - No-Decision Strategy
Ever wonder why Steve Jobs wore the same outfit every day?
Decision fatigue is real.
If you have to decide every day whether you’ll work out, eat right, or sleep on time, chances are, you’ll make poor choices.
Make it automatic... same workout days, same meal structure, same bedtime.
#5 - Pain Projection
Instead of thinking about the discomfort of training, flip the perspective.
Ask yourself: What will my life look like in 5 years if I keep putting this off?
Will you be the leader who is thriving, or the one who’s burning out?
Will you be the father who has the energy for his kids, or the one watching from the sidelines?
Make the pain of inaction greater than the pain of discipline.
#6 - Compress the Timeline
Long-term goals can feel too far away to be urgent.
Instead of saying, “I’ll get fit this year,” say, “I will lose 10 lbs in the next 30 days.”
Break it down into tangible, short-term targets so that every day has a clear focus.
The business won’t slow down. The stress won’t magically disappear. Life won’t suddenly make room for your fitness.
The only way forward is to decide that your health is non-negotiable.
And when you do? Everything changes.
Your energy skyrockets. Your mental clarity sharpens.
Your confidence in the boardroom (and at home) transforms.
You become the role model you’re supposed to be—for your business, your team, your family.
So, which procrastination killer will you use today?
Let me know in the comments, or if you’re finally ready to break the cycle and commit to real results, let’s talk.
