6 Important Things That Make Me Who I Am Today

1) My name is Mac Lackey. I am an angel investor and entrepreneur. I generally call myself "an entrepreneur" as I think it defines me best.??

2) I optimize for my family and have therefore structured my (last 3) companies in a way that I try to never miss any key moments with them. I cherish the little moments. However, this wasn't always the case. Early in my career I worked 80+ hour weeks and bragged about sleeping on the floor in my office. I didn't understand leverage, efficiency, or #lifewealth.

3) I am a huge soccer fan (particularly FC Barcelona). I was fortunate enough to play my whole life. I played through college and a bit professionally, but the greatest highlights for me were as a fan: meeting Pele at his house in Brazil. Seeing Maradonna play in Argentina for the National Team. Having season tickets on the 50-yard line in Camp Nou (FC Barcelona's stadium) while living in Barcelona. Meeting Lionel Messi, Neymar, and many of the best players in the world at their private practices in Barcelona. Meeting Brazilian legend Ronaldinho in NYC. Each of those moments were amazing. 

4) I love coffee. I really love Ethiopian natural (sun-dried) coffees and just about every small-batch, ethically sourced cup I can drink. I liked it so much I invested in a company called CauseRoast which pairs amazing coffee with social impact. If I'm at home I make great pour-overs, when I travel I seek out the best coffee I can find typically in small, local shops.??

5) Travel is one of my biggest passions. My wife and I share an interest in travel so have committed to taking family trips as often as possible. We have taken our daughters to 16+ countries in Europe and even moved abroad to experience life outside the US. I sit on a few international Boards and view travel as one of life's great experiences.??

6. I love growth and impact. The thing about being an entrepreneur is I get to "choose" all the things above while pursuing businesses that scale and can create impact. And at this point in life, I am so fortunate to choose these things and am committed to teaching others to do the same. ??
